  7. I climbed the hill, i rolled down the other side. Climbing up was difficult, but worth the roll on the other side. Hills are different from mountains, because the slope is gradual. The test is of perseverance and consistency to go up a hill. It doesn’t require bolts of energy, just a steady effort. It also doesn’t require equipment, just a willingness to go forward. Getting over hills is less celebrated, perhaps less respected than climbing mountains, but is more comparable to the day-to-day experience of life.

  15. This is where users write e.g. ‘hill’ was the given prompt when I pressed ‘go’.

Of course you could do the same thing in class with a whiteboard and an egg timer so the concept is not new, but the added dimension of posting the written response to the web creates a little bit of drama to the activity. Perhaps it won’t lead to great writing, but it could be a nice warm up activity for your students.

  26. s hill far away that stood alone in the night. There in the darkness a man stood on that lonely hill. staring out across the bay. Behind him stood the darkened stones of sacrifice. The had seen much blood over the years and the spirits of the slain were restless. He felt them move , wondering who disturbed their rest, seeking a way into his mind, a way to feel once more the warmth of the flesh. He stood against them strong in his faith, the ghosts on the hill.
