  2. Being happy takes courage. You have to work for it and make mistakes. Take risks that you wouldn’t think of taking. The right to pursue is in the Constitution for God’s sake, but to actually endeavor to find whatever it is out there that makes you truly happy takes courage.

    by Damiana MacCrone on 10.07.2012

Happy

  8. Happy is quite a crazy thing. Nobody can define it. Everybody else feels happiness differently. What may bring joy to me, may bring sadness to you. Happy is an emotion that I rarely feel, so when I do, I cherish it. I get the most out of every drop of happiness I can get my hands on.

  9. There was no other way to describe it; I was just…happy.

It was the happiest I had been in my life. I had felt so much different from how I often did. I wasn’t laughing because it would be polite to do so. I laughed because that bubbly feeling I got whenever he looked at me with that sparkle in his eye was overflowing my small frame. I was smiling not because I felt that should, but because it didn’t seem like I could do anything. For once in my life, I felt like everything was worth it.

And it was the best feeling in the world.

  10. He ran ahead of her with the dog pulling him swiftly towards the green field. It was the last day of the holidays and they had stopped in at the school to pick up a new hat and a new tie for the start of term tomorrow. Without the weight of his schoolbag and the burden of his uniform and teachers eyes upon him he skipped along playfully. Then without thinking, he stopped for a moment and looked at her quizzically and said ‘I feel free’. And that made her happy.

  11. “You look happy,” he said with a grin as she wound her arms around his neck and kissed his jaw.
“Mmm,” she hummed against his skin.
He chuckled and vibration in his chest sent shivers up her spine.
    “Deliriously,” she replied.

  12. Happy. Happiness is the smile on your face and the way I get jealous watching you with her. I’m such a dumb girl and I don’t know why I do this to myself. Happy is a word I’ve long lost touch with. Happy is being anywhere but here, looking at you two and wondering why I can’t be my best friend.

    by Darby on 10.07.2012

  15. She makes me happy and that’s all I care about. Tomorrow we will leave for good and hopefully neither one of us will look back. If she decides the trip will not be worth it, that’s fine too. I just want to be happy.

  18. It’s so easy to be happy. But sometimes, I feel like it’s not. It feels like happiness is some far off goal. Sometimes I feel like I’ll never be truly happy. Being happy is something that I miss.

  19. Today I have decided to be happy. You only get one life and then you die. “Why not be happy in between?” I thought to myself. Being happy hurts no one and makes for a good life. As the others passed me by with their problems with work and the kids and house and their body and every other thing they could think of, I made a conscious decision to be happy.

  20. HAPPY is a feeling that i used to desire to feel most of the time, if not all the time. With the events that have lately transpired to me however, it is now a feeling i dread. Why? because every time i feel happy, i feel the proceeding effects of sadness afterwards.

  21. i am happy when i am with you and together we are happy. I am happy when my head is on your shoulder and when you kiss my head on the train or when I am scared. I am happy when I feel free too. when i am on a bike and the wind is rushing in my face or when I am high up and noone can find me. that is when i am happy. happy is when I reach out to feel safe and warm but free and individual and I find it and pull it close and it feels like forever. happy is when I feel like I could go on until the sun freezes me with a smile on my face

  23. Happiness is not a destination. It’s a mindset. A way of life. People with that happiness would become a part of their life, but in reality, in order for that to happen you have to force it to. Right now, I am happy. I try my hardest to look at everything positively, and that makes me feel happy.

    by Sydney Davis on 10.07.2012

  27. We could have been, don’t you remember?
    I remember that we were
because I could see us being happy together
    I said to you
and that was when you began to cry
because you could see it too
    but I won’t know
I should have stopped you from
    walking out that door
I think there was a time
when you would think those words for me
    and believe them
    because I did
    and didn’t want to
and that’s why neither of us are, any more.
    Happy.

  28. Happy is him. Sudden. Unbelievably. He makes me happy.
I didn’t mean to fall for him’ but I am. His hands, his eyes, he touches me like i am the rarest find in the world.

  29. Happy. It’s like an echo of who I once was and even then I was not happy.
    Not truly happy anyway.
Maybe just a mask? Books make me happy. But those aren’t real either.
I have depression so happiness is like looking into the eyes of a dream I’ve never had.

  30. He makes me happy.
    Is it real happiness?
    Is happiness even real..?
Cutting makes me happy too and isn’t that a terrible addiction as well?
    I’ve heard love is like a band-aid.
He wants me to give up what makes me happy and I will lose balance and forget myself.
Can I even make myself happy?

  31. A dripping chocolate brownie with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream makes me happy. Replacing that with a leafy salad does not. Diets are stupid.

  32. A summers breeze, the wave of the trees the touch of his hand caressing my cheek: That’s what makes me happy.

Seeing his smile, spending quality time, listening to his heart beat: That’s what makes me happy.

  33. I’m actually pretty happy most of the time. I don’t think too hard about attaining happiness, yet of course it is on my mind sometimes, like when I feel unsatisfied. However, I think sometimes it’s better to just enjoy and live in the moment then trying too hard to be happy. I have this problem sometimes with being a perfectionist so I tend to read up on being happy, but really, they often don’t change much. So rather, I prefer to do what I like, be around people I like and just be me. I feel like happy is such an ideal sometimes, that we wreck ourselves trying to be constantly happy instead of just appreciating the good and the bad, because without the hard times, we can’t fully appreciate those happy days, can we? I like the feeling that the word happy evokes though, it always tends to bring a smile to my face – as if the word in itself has some magical power to make me happier.

  35. I felt happy when I got my first dog. Her name was Sandy, and I loved her more than anything. She was happy to see me when I got home from school, and she slept in my bed at night regardless of temperature. She loved me more than anything, and for that, she will always have a special place in my heart. RIP Sandy
    We will never forget you.

  39. It was just perfect. Everything. The air smelled crisp like it does on those inkling-of-fall days and I knew that somewhere there was cider brewing. It was sweater weather. Not the itchy kind. The kind of sweater that you bought at the store and felt victorious because it fit perfectly and didn’t even itch.
