  1. Grind, grind. Many words come to mind, and not very many pretty onces. The grinding of metal on metal, causing one to sreak and whimper. The dance, coffee, dog food–what an ugly word.

  2. It was a hot day outside and Jenny had to go to work at The Daily Grind. A newspaper that covered unusual news about psychics and mishaps of the supernatural around the city. All Jenny wanted to was sleep, but someone had been murdered, presumably by a werewolf.

  5. i remember when i was a kid trying to learn to grind on the skateboard we greased up all the corners of street paths, however i still couldn’t land it right i would always fall off, but one day i managed it not only managed it but did it for about 4 metres was so proud of myself and everyone saw it.

  8. The grinding of the machine still haunted my every waking hour. The images of my dear dog, bounding up the metal stairs to great me with a ‘clank…clank’ sound. The horrifying reality of sorrow and terror, as little sparky tripped and fell with clumsy grace into the grinder that caused his death. The sickening sound of dog whimpers and flesh grinding together in a sickening symphony that enticed my horrors.

  11. I have an axe to grind. I like to grind coffee. The daily grind is one in which i am currently engaged by way of a full load of school work. Grind can be a sexual term as in “bump and grind”. I’m not sure why i feel the need to immediately evaluate a word by definition. It must say something about my mind.

  19. I don’t know what to say about this word. I know my heart has been groud to dust many many times, but hey, what can you do but suck it up and go through life? No need to waste time on what’ s been ground or broken, you only have one life, so fucking live it every way you can, and live out everything you want. No holding back.

  20. I like my coffee to be freshly grinded in the morning… I dont always do it because I dont have much time in the morning. I like to grind coffee beans becaus it smells great. I also enjoy grinding several spices together to add to a recepie.

  21. People do too much of this these days. “Hey let’s go to a dance!” Yeah, I would rather not go to a sex club.
    Sometimes I grind my teeth at night, and it makes my jaw sore in the morning.
    I’m glad i don’t have to grind things to make flour for bread like they used to.
    I just hate this word.

You’ll never call it a pretty sounding word, but the idea that a word’s sound may reveal its meaning is certainly a beautiful concept.

  30. I’m going to club tomorrow. i’m epecting there to be a lot of grinding. I don’t actually know how to grind. But somehow I think of Nat when I see that word. I guess we’ve grinded before. But that was in bed. Oh god i love the feeling of her on top of me, moving along with me. Skin on skin. I miss that.

  31. My dad was using a grinder one day to peel a log for his log furniture (a poor idea to begin with, but what do you do?), when the grinding blade shattered, and subsequently shattered his shin. A week in the hospital, four bolts, two pins and a year later and he walks on it fine. His leg has never really looked the same though.

I almost threw up as the animal crushed the bones with his foot until he had grind them into dust as well.

  37. Grinde bilden sich, wenn du dir zum Beispiel das Knie aufgeschürft hast. Zuerst brennt es. Dann lässt der Schmerz nach und das Blut trocknet. Erst ist es noch rot, dann wird es dunkler und am Ende ist es schwarz. Wenn sich die Haut darunter neu gebildet hat, fällt der Grund ab. Aber ich habe es oft nicht so lange ausgehalten und habe mir den Grind vorher abgekratzt. Dann fing es wieder an zu bluten.

  38. Grinding is one of the best forms of winning money at poker. It about not letting people know that you have a better hand than them and then just faking the appropriate expressions to let them know that you are gambling on a draw chance. Once you get it then in the last betting round you can even appear to be really desperate but betting a lot of money, but infact you a looting the other one off the dough.
