  1. The arena was crowded and louder beyond belief. He stood there, shield and sword in hand, glancing around at the mass of people who had come to see him die – were cheering to see him die. Sweat started to bead on his forehead and roll down his face.

  2. He was majestic and strong. You could feel it oozing out of his entire being. He demanded respect and his presence was indicative of his power. And his eyes pierced into my soul as he stared me down. He made me nervous to say the least.

    by Crystal on 04.25.2012
  3. In the end, killing him just makes sense. It’s a fight to the death anyways, and they both know that only one of them is coming out. And from the second it was the two of them pitted against each other they both probably knew that Clay would be the one who dies here in the packed dirt. He’d like to say he could feel more at the end than he does, he’d give even more to have Clay feel something or say something, but neither happens. Danielle wins and Clay never gave in, even in death.

  4. The gladiator step out into the arena. The crowd cheered as he raised his sword above his head.

“I am a GOD!” he belowed.

His dark eyes scanning the crowd for any who dare disagree.

  10. Gladiator

I have no idea what the fuck a gladiator is. I think a gladiator is some kind of Greek or Roman warrior. Not really a warrior so much as an entertainer. Although that could be a bastardization based on the show gladiator. I think that’s what it was called. They had men’s and women’s versions, and they would play various games against each other. There was a part in the steel hamster cages which were pretty great.

  11. Amy, in her police outfit, looked at Rory’s Roman soldier outfit. She smirked.

    “You’re dressed as a gladiator?”

“No, no,” Rory said, “a centurion. There’s a difference.”

She smiled. “Well then, my lone centurion, you are handsome.”

    “And you are beautifiul.”

  12. “After the war… I’ll still be here.”

    “And if I don’t return?”

“Then I suppose I’ll spend the rest of my life waiting.
And you know how I don’t enjoy being kept waiting.”

Slowly, the corners of his mouth crept into a smile,
as she turned to go, he caught the mischievous twinkle in her eyes.
She gave him a wink before walking back to their home.
The home they’d raise their family in…

    When he returned.

  13. He can wrestle, kill, dominate, and control. How do we know he is the best? Thom knows, he was thrown into a pen with a lion. The lion won, and no one understood. The lion was the gladiator.

  14. Gladiators are Roman. Roman, like that guy from that episode of Torchwood I just watched. Torchwood. I should really watch the next episode of that show.
Gladiators are strong and powerful, and they don’t care, they just conquer. Veni vide vice. Caeser. Was he a gladiator? Did I even spell that right? I know he was Roman, yes, but was he a gladiator? Perhaps he just commanded gladiators and never was one. They were all just his pawns.

  15. The man jumped off his horse, slashing at everything with his sword. Everything rushed in at once, but he was the best, the strongest, and the most fierce. But no! A lion pounced upon him and took with him the mans last breath. The lion was the true gladiator.

  16. “DON’T try to make me question my thoughts!
YOU have NOT walked in my shoes!
DON’T tell me that you think you understand me better than I do!
DON’T try to insert the rapid growing fungus of GUILT in my ear all the while trying to pull me into a circular conversation to give GUILT more time to passively aggressively spread!
DON’T think that you know what I was experiencing over the years!
DON’T think that I am that same person who let all these DON’Ts happen before!
    Because YOU KNOW WHAT!
    …..
    My rage is my gladiator
    My truth is my sword
    My shield is a mirror
    and…
If I hold it up long enough
You’ll see your reflection and know that I am speaking the truth
No matter how heavy that mirror is to hold”

  17. The roman Gladiator. That was what he was known as.

Sad, but true. He had no other name. Just the title of a famous warrior from history. as did all the others.

There was the spartan warrior, for one. and the one from the year 3085.

It was so bizzare, that they should choose to tech history that way.

  18. Gladiators in suits is what one man said on a tv show. It makes me wonder where they get their writers. Gladiators. we’re all gladiators in our own arenas. Who do I fight against? Illiteracy, laziness, and ignorance. I will fight forever. Until … well I don’t know until what.

  19. A gladiator is from ancient Rome, a man trained to fight with weapons against other men or wild animals in an arena, most notably the Collusseum.

  20. Gladiator. I think about Brad Pitt and lions and the Colosseum. I think about times older than I can even comprehend, languages I’ll never understand, and entertainment that shocks me. I wonder what people will think of us in 2000 years. Gladiator.

  21. “I wasn’t a gladiator,” Astor corrected. “I was a charioteer. And with the speed at which I heal I don’t think it was a particularly foolhardy hobby.”

“I WAS AN INCREDIBLY CONSCIENTIOUS COMPETITOR COMPARED TO MOST! DID YOU SEE THAT ONE GUY, CLAUDIUS OR WHATEVER HIS NAME WAS? I THINK HE DEALT ME MORE WOULD-BE FATAL WOUNDS THAN I DEALT NORMAL ONES TOTAL.”

  22. I am a gladiator. Nothing else. If you looked at me, you would see a man. A man covered in dirt and blood. A man with no past. A slave. That’s all I am anymore. Sometimes, I wish someone would catch me off guard. To take my life and splatter it all over the ground.

  23. I am a gladiator. Nothing else. If you looked at me, you would see a man. A man covered in dirt and blood. A man with no past. A slave. That’s all I am anymore. I just fight for no reason. No. I do fight for a reason. For your entertainment.

  25. Sebastian Moran was his warrior, his muscle man, his gladiator. If Jim needed somebody killed, Sebastian was the man for the job. If someone was being stingy with their evidence, well, Sebastian would get it out of them, quick and easy. And if Jim was in the mood for a particularly violent orgasm, well, Seb was down with that, too.

  29. With spear in hand he threw it straight to another man’s gullet. The gladiator smirked and ran to retrieve it, but a whinny from behind alerted him of an enemy. Turning around he saw Asmodeus with eyes of lit coals staring back down upon him. The warrior felt a chill run up his spine. Asmodeus? Alive? Yet, it wasn’t him. Whoever he was looked like his brother, but with eyes like lit coals it could not be him.
    “Are you foe?”
The man was silent for a time until he rasped out:
    “I am Foe.”

  33. Picking up the weighty piece of corroded metal, he lifted the plate above his head and sent it flying across the field of sand at his enemy. Sweat and blood were drowning out his toes as his open wounds continued to flow.

  34. Oh SHIT.

The figure, lean and shining in golden armor, was now easy to identify. God dammit, Anna. I can’t let you out of my sight for one minute, can I? If you had told me a year ago that I would be trying to find a way to get her out of a stadium under the nose of thousands of cheering spectators who wanted to watch her be torn apart by lions, I… well, actually, I doubt I’d be surprised.

  35. I fight to live, but also to die. If I fight, I live. I also die. I have everything, yet nothing, at once. I know my strength, though not how it might be used—by myself or others, or by myself for others—in any fight. I am a gladiator. I am a slave.

  36. The greatest battle is the one you have with yourself
No one is going to feed you to the lions

  37. A gladiator battle took place that evening. A set up, it was. Two friends thrown into the vortex of blood, sweat, and steel, for the pure ecstatic and primal thriving of spectators. Screams filled the sonic blanket, shouting for the domination, of one… of anything.

  38. ok its a fight between man and tigers or lion of stuff… they r slaves and they usually serve for amuse the rich people

  39. She fought through the thousands of opposing members of Byakuran. She slashed through them in a beautiful way that almost made Akaya ignore the fact that Ritsu was in fact killing these men. She wasn’t being the merciful person he knew her to be she was a gladiator. Fierce and vicious she wouldn’t let anything get in the way of her intended outcome. It made him weak in the knees to see her like this. It would forever haunt his dreams to see the girl he knew to have compassion become a killing machine of this caliber.
