The rush hit her. The euphoria and then the frenzy. The half empty packet of powder still sat on the glass coffee table — the off color of pink where the cook messed up evident.

And, when the battle was done and the proverbial smoke cleared, she stood there, her weapons dripping with gore, as the purest personification of death the world has ever known. The smile she offered me was wild, even feral, all pointed teeth and manic happiness.
And I couldn’t help but be afraid.

It only takes one small step, perhaps on the heels of something you might never had imagined occurring. This plus that equals a volcano of beauty and transformation one had never expected. A word said, a memory regained, can thrust open a door we may never have intended and set in motion a room full of dominoes. We never know what tomorrow may bring.

She was beautiful, a wild girl with legs like steel. I watched her, hair flowing everywhere as she ran. But she was getting ahead of me! I tried to catch up with her or even get in front of her, but I was too captivated.
