  7. I might have a flutter today on the grand national. placing a small bet on the most watched horse race in the British sporting calendar is an annual treat. The most rewarding method is to organise a small sweepstake with family or colleagues. That way there’s always a winner close at hand. I don’t tend to have a flutter on anything else. Maybe on the roulette wheel if I happen to be in a casino. This doesn’t happen very often either though. When you don’t gamble often you can afford to have the occasional flutter.

  9. Butterflies. One of my favorite feelings is the feeling of butterflies in my stomach, the nervous kind that you only get when you’re with a boy that you have a crush on. A girl should always have butterflies.

  10. The butterfly was confused. Flying around the flowerbed was proving to be more difficult than any of her flight instructors had told her. The wind was causing the flowers to wave about, chaotic, each vying to hit her and send her hurtling to the ground.

  12. Really, i’m no more feminine than anybody esle. It takes a kind of… confidence, and patience, to accept that you’re simply no more or less androgynous than another woman, or a man. Fluttering is generally used in jest, as an excited kind of coo ( I guess?)

  13. As he walked by I stopped dead in my tracks. Then I felt it. My heart began to beat faster and faster. It fluttered around in my chest begging to be set free. I quickly pushed some hair behind my ear and gave a small shy smile. Our eyes met and he gave a grin, nodding in my direction. Perfection. He was perfection.

  14. An ant fluttered down from a branch that it was perched on after a gust of wind ripped through the air. As it fell it noticed a lot of great things. It saw a bird flying above and a dog barking at a cat.

  15. My heart is fluttering like mad. I have never felt so ALIVE. I think this has definitely been one of the better choices I’ve made with my life. I’m young, but I’m in love. I’m not hesitant to say it either, because this thing is once in a lifetime. You don’t let things this good go bad: that would be making a bad choice. This was a beautiful day. This was a good mark. This is a good life.

  20. flutter, of course meaning like the flutter of wings. makes ya think of birds, i guess, and although my first instinct when i was given the task of writing about a random topic was to make a joke, no good “flutter” jokes are really popping up right now.

  26. Flutter like butterflies. What else flutters? You don’t hear this word too often. Is fluttering precisely the flapping of the wings, or can anything flutter? It sounds nice and implies something happy like freedom or escape. I should go look it up in the dictionary.
