His face was lit by the fire from the dozens of lighters held up in the small room, and my stomach almost dropped at the sight of his carefree smile; and yet he seemed to care all at the same time. When his eyes dropped upon me, his smile broadened, and it took all my strength not to run into his arms. Maybe it was the drinks stirring in me, but I said what I was thinking: “I belong with you.” And all he could say back was,

  9. Fire. It licked out of the pan and to the wooden spoon nearby, from then catching on the towels and then on the wooden bread box next to it.

    Fire. It spread from the bread box to the cookbook you’d left out last night after a long bout of baking. From there it caught on the pot full of oily water that you’d left in the sink.

    Fire. It traveled to the napkins you’d left all over the place.

    Fire. The smoke alarm activated, and you got out of the house, but my picture didn’t.

    She spreads her legs in front of me while my hands are tied around the chair.

    So the fire heats up.

  18. my dad and brother and basically whole family fight fires! they always have but i refuse to follow in their foot steps! im afraid of fire! fire is orange and kind of pretty! hehehehehe.

  19. As I made my pot of tea, I saw a spark. Quickly the stove caught flame and the heat threw me backward. I yelled for everyone to awake and ran out of the house after saving them from their slumber.

I can do nothing for I started as a nothing, a mere child playing with a greater power, who am I to believe I can tell it where it stands? My cries screams of agony and pain or are they cries for help from this evil foe.

  25. Nope. Not feeling it. It’s añmost impossible to be inspired (or at least coherent) when you have been mostly sleeping and eating in the last hours. There is no struggle… but I did watch There Will Be Blood. Genius. My time’s up.

  34. The fire began to glow as the first sparks caught with the wind of her breath. the young woman had been traveling for some time when nightfall had forced her to bed down and make camp. She’d feared being caught in the forest at night, but it would do no good to continue on. Better to eat and then rest then go on weary.
    The fire blazed up suddenly and it’s flames came together to form a woman in with their movements.
