The environment had all but vanished. Days were hot, nights were hot, and so were the mornings and afternoons and every other time of day you can think of. All devastatingly hot, all year long. It had been this way for generations, and just because Mazee was accustomed to it did not make it alright in her mind.
What should we do to help our environment?
We should take every small steps to help it.
Conserve water.
Segregate your trash properly.
Eat what you can eat without having leftovers.
While these actions may seem small, they have a large
impact in helping our environment.
I look around at the distorted figures, growling, eyes wide, grotesque. with sharp teeth like tusks, gleaming eyes. they’re suffocating me and I wish I was somewhere with trees and still and calm.
The tip of her head poked out from the window, followed by the rest of her face and neck, and then her slight shoulders, barely making it out through the tight edges of the frame. She tasted iron in the air.
I stepped out of the bunker into a red, alien landscape. Orange rubble spread from my feet to a distant horizon, with the rusted iron skeletons of skyscrapers jutting like compound fractures from broken stone. A murky sky bathed the world in a bloody light. Smoke bled into clouds in an indistinct haze. Even through my gas mask, I could taste the metallic dust.
This is not the kind of life I was hoping to have. This is not the kind of environment I wanted to be a part of. Look – all the people’s faces are blurred. It’s like a camera caught their stare and turned their scared eyes into pixels. They shamble aimlessly about, tripping over divots in the road. I think I might disintegrate into a smudge on a lens, too.

The environment is something people take for granted. People are polluting the ocean and air. deforestation is also a big problem.
