  7. When I see this word, all I think about is a commercial that says that water is the elixir of life. Not sure exactly what elixir means exactly. When I see it, I think of something that is necessary. Something for life to keep going to sustain itself. Now I am going to go look it up in a dictionary to be sure I know what it means.

  12. In the wild west they used to sell snake oil and other elixir’s that promised miraculous cures for everything from headaches to general apathy and malaise. What is it about humans that causes us to buy into these types of promises? Why are we always searching for a cure? Is it the same drive that leads us to question the meaning of life?

  39. sounds to me like a potion. A drink of some sort that gives me some healing or power. Perhaps I drink this when i’m feeling sick or when i’m in need of a pick-me-up. It doesn’t taste very well. Perhaps has some berries or some sort of liquid added to make it taste better.

  40. The alchemist mixes is for life. Others use it for truth, perhaps beauty, fame, fortune. It is the idea of what it can do, what it can bring that drives people to search for it. One could waste and entire lifetime trying to find that elixir that will give us what we want.
