“It’s the elixir of life!” I glared at him for the mean joke. “Just drink it!” He nudged my arm that held the cup. I brought it closer to my mouth, when he pushed the bottom of the cup, washing the foul tasting liquid into my mouth. I barely swallowed before the gagging came into effect.
The girl poured the mixing bottle into the small potion. The elixir was for the unicorn that laid just outside the small cottage. She wasn’t sure where it came from. All she knew was that she found it with a small arrow sticking out of it side. The girl was lucky that she found the unicorn. All unicorns are considered magical and pure. Who could have shot something so dark and something so pure and full of light?
The cool wind danced around her ears. It felt like an elixir, like a cure for all her troubles. The rain hadn’t started yet but she could feel and smell that it would. She grinned and stepped out of the house. For the first time in years she felt the strain of her muscles as she ran down the street, laughing.
