  7. My little Korean kids.

Well they weren’t really little, they were like 15 and 16. But they’re what I think of when I think of little darlings.

Well they weren’t really little darlings either.

One I could hardly get to talk to me or interact (or sometimes stay awake lol), though when I did he worked hard.

Nah…they were all awesome. They were all my little darlings.

    And I miss em.

  8. Though I use the word much too often. I know it in my heart there are only a few who deserve this title. Sweet, caring, lovable. Like you.

  9. It was a bright outside, drink a cup of tea at the patio. Our children running around on the grass. “what’s on your mind my little darlings?” he said. it was a memory worth living every second.

    Miggy baby?
Nah, I’ll be the one who’d get that!
You spilled the milk for the -nth time, Marcus!
Oh, darlings! You give me headache!

  16. Keys jangle in the lock, then, a click.
My wife flounces into the living room, all tits and diamonds and flamboyant silk. The front door slams, and an infernal wail starts up from the baby’s cot.

    Then, a high-pitched chirrup.
    “My darlings!”

For a second, I allow myself the delusion that her exclamation is directed toward me.

    “My dear, dear little darlings!”
Ignoring the baby’s cries, she scoops up the two wriggling, yapping bundles of fur at her feet and continues her senseless prattle.
“Did you miss your mommy, mmm? Oh you did! Oh, you are such good little boys!”
She kisses the wet, sloppy tongues of her Chihuahuas.

I pick my drink up, and trudge over to the bawling child.
I didn’t sign up for this. I never wanted to be nothing more than a wallet and a babysitter.

    by Kristy on 08.31.2012
  17. “My darlings!” The false mother called out, sickly sweet. I turned and scowled as she gripped my wrist in a vice like hold, under the pretence of hugging me close. “You know the consequences so play along!” she hissed in a low, threatening tone. I nodded once, and put on a smile. I even let her put an arm round my shoulders to lead me to the car. As the tinted window – tinted so I couldn’t see out, that is – the last glimpse of the outside world was that of my old house, where my mother and father’s bodies still lay, oblivious to their children’s pain as their murderer swept them away.

    by Hayley Williams on 08.31.2012

  20. Darlings, a word for those who have run out of names for their feelings, a way of saying you care for someone while still holding them at the stop light ends of your fingers. Oh my darling, you are already a world away….

  21. I hadn’t the time to deal with these little darlings. So I blew a puff of my blue smoke… only it came out green… and instead of succumbing to the slumber my potion had planned for them, they turned into bunnies. Energetic bunnies. Oh gosh! How the hell would I make it in time for the ball?

  22. “You must be a darling to your dear mother while she’s sick. You must stroke her hair and make the dinner for her while I’m gone and be gentle. And on mothers day…. You know.” their father said caressing his childrens hair. Then he walked into the mist…. Never to be seen again….

  23. Katherine approached the Salvatore brothers, fangs bared.
“My darlings,” she coaxed, “it’s time for a …change”. A flash of teeth and it was all over for Stefan and Damon.

    by Jenevieve on 08.31.2012

  26. Oh those little darlings, they brought me chocolate. They know their grandmother, that’s for sure. Every time they visit it’s a different box and full of sweetly goodness.

  27. You are so important to me.

I empathize with the young male. To be masculine in this society – to be forced to hide your tears, swallow the lump in your throat, close your heart to all emotion. It’s harder to be a boy than a girl. Yet I am the one who perpetrates society’s view of the masculine ideal.

  28. Terry sighed as he curled into Denver and closed his eyes, making the vampire chuckle as he ran his fingers through the smaller man’s hair. On his other side, Josh also dozed, long limbs more splayed out than Terry’s. The two of them were entirely loyal to Denver and they both loved him dearly, in different ways. They were his darlings, his lover and his friend.

  29. daughters are darlings of their fathers. wives are darlings of their husbands n children are of their parents. darling means to be important to somebody..it has lots and lots of feelings involved in it.

  30. these little ones… how marvelous they have become. the way they grow here in this little tuft of earth that was once distastefully bare. who knew so much colour could sprout from pieces of plant so small? now these flowers have overtaken my front yard and i have my darling husband to thank. he’s the one who angrily stormed out of the house with a handful of “rubbish” and threw them to the floor. that temper of his simply gets the best of him. but there goes to show you, not everything is what it seems. he is reminded of that everyday. lilac, fucsia, white… the impatients are growing more wildly everyday, but his impatience has somehow subsided. the intricacies of nature never cease to amaze me.

  31. My school-friends are my darlings. They always manage to make me smile, give me much needed advise and support.

  32. I don’t want to call upon many people with the title “darling”. I would be very content to call one person darling for the rest of my life. And other names at that, like dear, honey, and love. I want to make someone feel special.

  33. Oh how great it would be to call someone darling. Or to be called darling. I can only pray that one day I will have a darling to take care of. I don’t want darlings, just a darling.

    by Christine Jones on 08.30.2012
  34. darling is someone you adore. love without restraint. trust them with everything. look at them and fall madly in love with the way they smile, the silly things they say, the bad outfits they put together. you love them no matter what. you can tell them anything, be yourself, be comfortable. they are a best friend.

  35. darlings of my heart,

    don’t speak

    don’t let me go

    just hold me

    till the hurt passes

  36. Darlings. Darlin’ is a song I used to love. But I realize it’s rather cliche now. But that’s alright. Darling reminds me of British people, just like love. And that brings me to a gorgeous friend I had named Isobel. Who of course is British. She never said Darling though. Only as a joke. Maybe I’m just stereotypical. ._.

    by Boo! on 08.30.2012

  39. The little darlings. Look at them glimmering through a cocaine haze. Gorgeous and empty. Vile and repetitive. Boring little darling…

  40. Those darlings aged her beyond recognition. But I could tell that she was still happy, enjoying the company of the little ones that never let her have a moment’s rest. They’re older now, too. And at this point, imagining the two of them apart isn’t even a thought…
