he was clipped off from society, he knew. some might question his choice of words–clipped–but he knew that’s what he was. he was part of something greater once, too, the life of the party and the top kid in his class. and then shit happened, life happened, and he found himself cut off. the branches in the hedges that grow too far and too fast find themselves clipped off; and so he did.
They clipped the wings of an angel.
She was very young when they found her, so lost, so cold, so alone. They raised her. They said they loved her, nourished her, allowed her to thrive. And they held her down so she could never leave them.
But one day, they knew she would try. With no other alternative, her false mother held her down, and in one quick slice, her wings were shorn from her back, once and for all.
Life is forever unfair. For most of the time you spent living, you will be slithering along the metaphorical leaves of knowing what’s good, what’s bad, what’s between them, like a caterpillar attempting to know his place in the world. There will come a time when you have to curl up in a cocoon, to brood about what you have learned so far, and when you emerge out of this temporary home, you will soar, sliding along the playful winds of fate that take you places. And just when you think you are the freest creature on earth, someone comes along to clip your wings. Someone will be there, waiting with the rust-caked scissors…
some angels,
upon entering,

not many know why,
but some have some crazy theories.
they say, “those insects shouldn’t be allowed to fly.”
but personally i think,
those cynics are just jealous
because they stay sleeping in sewers
while the rest rest in clouds.
She was magnificent; the epitome of beauty.
She could soar off into the clouds and kiss the moon in minutes.
Would you believe me if I said you and I were once like her too?
So fearless, so imaginative.
Now we only sit on our lawn chairs, watching her fly away with what we used to be.
“Now that’s quite enough, Jensen!” came the voice in clipped tones.
“Enough what?” he replied. “Enough for you? Well, I’m not happy with what I am or where I am and I aim to get myself out of this place. So if you don’t mind, bugger off!”
I was driving just the other day, and a woman almost merged into my car – no, she didn’t almost clip my car, she nearly ran me off the road. People, these days. They just don’t teach ’em to drive like they used to.
On the floor, hair, lots and lots of hair. She had been growing it since she was 9 years old. Now at 30, she wondered what life would be like with out it to hide behind The hairdresser clipped more, it fell across her face. Tears fell. She wasn’t sure if she was happy or sad.
she clipped the corner of my car and sent me spinning into the other lane….”I’m going to die,” was my first thought. And it wasn’t like they say in the movies – my life did not flash before my eyes and I most certainly did not feel at peace with the idea. I wasn’t going – not even kicking and screaming and hurtling into oncoming traffic.
some dogs get their tails clipped, right? that’s pretty weird. but i guess if i had a tail, i’d want it clipped, too. but that’s only because i’m a person, and people aren’t supposed to have tails. oh, yuck, now that i think about it, tails are really nasty. ehh. i would defs get my tail clipped. if i had a tail. which i don’t.
Wow. In one fell swoop he ended everything I ever believed in. He made my heart skip a beat and beat me with it. He clipped my wings and made me forget how to ride a bike. He made me shrink in fear when I thought of him. I never want to see his face again. If I fly again, it will only be away from him.

I clipped the side of my mom’s new car. The mirror fell off the side and it has a giant white streak from the mailbox. I’ll be grounded for weeks, no money, no boyfriend, no friends, no nothing! Why did i have to go for a joyride.
I always forget where I place all the papers with reply slips! OH GOODNESS! They’re just in my reminder notebook. Ho forgetful I can be! I should really start improving my memory bank. It’s getting pretty rusty up there. Oh well, I guess I just need to kiss my brain!
she clipped along at a speedy pace. never looking back and yet they still seem to catch up to her. panic set in her eyes and she turned around once more and saw that they had gained on her yet again. when she turn backed around the path looked darker than before…

I was stunted. Before me stood a giant maze, so large that I could barely see the tiny pin prick people inside of it. The maze was made of an English box hedge, and had to be constantly clipped to maintain its immaculate shape.
She clipped the papers together for the turks tabs, which were insanely high, and sighed. Her other customers that weren’t “turkey savers” had alot smaller stacks.
We never saw it coming. The blue torus clipped the side of our jeep. One minute we were going 60 mph down I 65 and the next we were skidding over into on going traffic. Its scared the hell out of me. I just might have peed my pants.
Anything to avoid this moment: Run and hide under the bed. Do something cute so they’ll get a toy out. Spend a while in the litter box making those ftt ftt noises in the sand. Find a really high place to perch. Do not want claws clipped!

It was only a matter of time, I suppose.

i feel clipped, well cut really, or maybe even frayed, when I make an effort to be a part of something, I like to be accepted, not blatantly pushed away by people who don’t have the power to control who I am or what I do anyway.
