    it doesn’t sit right —

  9. Everyone in America and the world really thinks that they
are able to automatically claim everything in life. That it is all
just handed to them. But the fact is that we should not make claims
in this world. It shows just how ignorant we truly are. Teens get
this a lot because we don’t know what it is like to really “work”
yet. I think that teens do understand, they just understand
differently. A lot of us don’t, its true. But a lot of us have cars
and cell phones and sometimes even families to take care of and you
can bet that those people don’t claim shit. They work for
    it.

    by Bonnie Blackburn on 02.06.2013
  12. The claims of a bearded clam did little to persuade me for her cause. It’s not that I thought the clam was lying per se, after all a talking one that walks is quite a feat. So fantastical is it, that almost anything witnessed thereafter might be believed. But that she confidently stated she was once both the Empress of China and a resident Goddess of Olympus naturally aroused my suspicion.

“Yes,” I scowl as I pull on my hoodie. “I’m telling the truth.”

“Okay.” He sighs and shrugs. “He’s crazy, then.”

    “Yeah, I didn’t hit him.”

    “Good.”

    “I shanked him.”

I can’t stand the sound of it, and looking into your face makes me sick. You’re crazy, a lunatic. Your claims are false, they bind me only with their lies. Everyone can see, open your eyes. You can’t last. Kill me! Drag me to the grave! You can’t last. I won’t go down easily, I’ll hold on fast. I’ll hold on to the truth.

  18. This is what i claim. Right here. Right now. Those little leaps of faith that keep us human, reaching out in the hope we won’t fall upon our faces. Those moments of perfect clarity, like moonlight or sunshine, reaching out to light up my mind. I claim the beauty that can only be seen in hindsight- the hinderances that can’t be won. I claim the world, to hold it between my palms and pray for it to find the perfect kind of madness lurking deep. To give it the push it desperately needs

    that let me now
    your lies…
    are just
    lies.

    no one
    cares)

  24. I sat at my musty desk stamping one paper after another. My gaze continued to wandering to the one window in the office, placed there by mandatory court order of course.

The birds outside chirped peacefully on their branch, returning their most recent find to their children.

A funny sensation came over me.

    I grew wings.

I lay claim to the sky.

  25. It was the fact that he spoke it out loud that really drove me crazy
“You know…I can fly.” He said, as though he were so special. As though he were the only one.
“Yeah, so can half of Hollywood.” I said in reply. It had been astonishing at first, when they came out of the woodwork- those people who could swoop about the sky like birds, or angels as people were apt to call them. Of course so many of them sold their souls soon afterword- a real nice house for some footage, and then a thousand dollars for a reality T.V. show. They seemed to be everywhere. But now we could tell who they were- now we were looking. People who can fly always seem pale. Their skin brightest ivory, and hair almost white. But the eyes are really how you spot them. They eyes of the Fliyers are dark. Always, always dark. And Stevens eyes were a pale, even blue. His lies were nothing more than that: the claims of a boy desperate for attention. Then again, he could be wearing contacts- hiding his otherness with a manufactured disguise. I knew all about that. I had been doing it for years.

you though, make claims but never execute, never erect a thing for me.
    goddess, i think not.

  30. They all claim:
    I will not succeed
I am throwing my life away
I am not living up to my true potential
I am better than all of this

You see, the time her items were purchased from the store was nine seventeen pm. The closest hardware store to her house is at least 45 minutes away.
