  1. mother! ugh. it’s like no matter how much I do around here, this place can never get clean enough. dusting, vacuuming, dishes, everything. and she yells at me for leaving my mail around??? she wont even pick up after herself when she’s cooking. she expects everyone to do everything for her. god forbid she should have to lift a finger

  2. This relationship is becoming a chore. I’m tired of being with him. He’s been so clingy and yet testy lately… maybe I should have more sympathy, but I don’t see why I need to be punished. It’s not like I’m the one who pushed his mom from the top of that building.

  3. Who likes chores? No one…so why do them! Let’s all rebel against the chores our mothers give us and show that WE WON’T DO THEM! They’re our parents, they can do the chores. It’s THEIR job!

  4. I hate doing chores, but there’s one of those things you just have to do. My dad was one of those parents that cleaned when stressed out, and with his job, he was always stressing over something. So when it came time to do a weekly clean of the house, there was a huge list of things to do–literally. My dad is a perfectionist. I love, and hate it, because although our house is always really tidy and nice, I’m a messy person by nature. I just can’t function as well in the tidy areas, it’s just my stress. D:

  5. Chores are a big waste of time. People all over the world do chores,, men women even children too. I do chores all the time. You can do chores too, maybe clean your room or even clean your brothers room. I clean the kitchen, the bathroom, my room, thee living room, I also fold clothes. Thats a chore too. I also put clothes in the laundry. I do chores because my parents don’t. And someone has to clean the house, I chose to barley do my chores so I make myself really really busy and I never have time to do my chores. That’s what you should do to, because it works every time…

  6. i hate chores. even though i dont do many of them. they really do suck when you have to do them. id have to say my least favorite chore would have to be mopping or doing laundry. i hate them but its not really healthy or sanitary to live in a house without doing it.

  8. Chores. They may be difficult, dull as dishwater, or just downright disgusting, but someone’s always gotta do the dirty work, and someone’s always gotta make the dirty…stuff…um…not-dirty. Right? I know you’re the only one competent enough to be trusted with these things, so your workload is considerably larger. But Keep at it. I appreciate you and I commend your efforts towards the big picture. You’re more than just a cog in the machine. More than a brick in the wall. You’re the engine, the fuel, the oxidizer, the lubricant, the joints, blots, sprockets, thingamajigs and dinglehoppers making the world go ’round. Hats off to you.

  9. I rarely do chores. But then, in the Bangladeshi culture, all household duties rest on the delicate shoulders of the wives. So Ammu (Mom) does all the work around the house. I’m working on changing that..

  10. they’re stupid. no one really wants to do them. no one. yet everyone insists that they get done. it doesn’t make much sense. i say we stop caring about shit we have, stop caring about if they’re clean, and stop doing this.

  12. chores are very boring and i hate them. They are a waste of time unless you get paid which is not always going to happen. Its not always easy to work, for no reason, except for someone else’s benefit. I hate chores.

  16. heard this word countless times and as i grow and mature i wish i could do them all day long because the pressure of daily life is nothing compared to vacuuming a living room

  17. you know, as a kid, i never really had to do chores. i actually enjoyed vacuuming the house, weird as it sounds. i guess chores are tasks you really don’t want to do and when you do them, you get money for it. is that kind of like being a stripper? except those girls want to take their clothes off for money. so sick.

  18. You say i don’t do any chores around the house but have you stopped to take a second and see the change that has happened the way the clothes neatly stack up ready to be delivered to everyone’s room the way the dishes just happen to magically disappear from the rack and the way in which everything seems to have found the right place it should be so before you say i don’t do chores take a second to look around and appreciate what i have done so far.

  19. I looked at the list of chores on the fridge: Clean litter box, get children’s lunches ready, kill husband for making me make the chore list that he would never do. That was a lot to fit on that sticky note, but I always had small hand writing, compared to a child’s.

  20. I always hated doing chores when I was younger. But now that I’m older and more mature, chores are not chores anymore, it’s life. Damn, I’m growing up.

  21. i do not like to do my chores. i have lots to do cleaning, cooking, polishing tables and hoovering up the sitting room amongst having to take out the trash and tidy up my own bedroom. when my brother does not do his chores i have to do them for him which makes them even more tiresome! i would like to have a maid

  22. i hate htem. they fucking suck. i’m the only one hwo ever does the fucking dishes and it sucks. my brother never has to do them. i think it’s cause he’s a boy and has a job and blah blah blah. my parent’s are kinda sexist. it completely sucks. i’m way more driven then he is and i have to spend my time doing dishes? fuck it. i want to beawjbgehiasndlfb i don’t even know. i hate being timed.

  23. Oh my gosh, I hate chores. Why can’t they just do themselves? I’m going to buy myself a robot like a roomba to do all my chores. My room is gunna be sparkly spotless. The world is gunna be owned by robots. Everything’s going to automatic. It’s going to be ridonkulous. yeah yeah.

    by Gucci on 07.08.2011
  24. I’ve never really had chores. Maybe that’s why I lack the ability to manage finances well. I don’t feel as if I’m less responsible, but maybe that can attribute to it? Sorry mom. But thanks for not making me do them? I did my share, I guess.

  25. I hate them, i just can’t stand them. I hate when my mom give me a new one when I have not already finish another. But in summer chores are the only thing that keep me alive.

  27. Dishes. The suds are spilling endlessly over the waves of water. I look out the window to only see more water. And more. and more. and wind. WHAT”S WITH THE TROPICAL RAINSTORM IN COLORADO????? I DIDN’T ORDER A MONSOON!!!!!!!

  28. Chores stink. But what are chores anyway? what defines a chore? do we have to dislike them? i define a chore as a repetitive task that can be used to benefit something. What’s the point of chores? Do they help us grow, or are they just busywork

  29. there are times where I’m not sure if someone does something for me because they love me or because they feel obligated somehow, like a chore. Not to say I’m so suspicious all of the time but there are moments when someone will do something so kind and I can’t help but turn to them and ask, “why?” There is an answer to “why” for all kind things that are done. Chore or no.

  30. my father made a chore chart when i was young, he gave me a gold star for every chore i accomplished prior to him asking. 20 stars and my laced his mud covered hiking boots, started the old rusted engine and came home with a gift. Now, I just do chores all day long…. but there are no gold stars, there is nothing.

  31. I hated chores when I was young. Especially doing dishes on Sunday when we used the good plates (with my mom supervising!) and I had to be really careful when cleaning them. When dishwashers came out I was thrilled until I had to wash every dish before I could put it IN the dishwasher! Hurrah for new state-of-the art dishwashers!

  33. Washing the dishes is my absolute favorite chore. I do it without even being asked. I love it. It’s so calming and monotonous.

  34. it’s such a chore to be open, to explain everything. It’s much easier to be guarded, refusing to open the gates. But when he brings an army, it’s almost worst to hold them closed. He’ll just break through anyway. So all I can do is just lie here and feel vulnerable, and letting him hold me while I cry.

  35. Chores are something everyone has to do. But they wear on your nerves when you have a thoughtless roommate who just creates work. And never contributes anything. A mooch is what that’s called.

  36. She called it chores, but honestly, i took pleasure in it. it gave me time to think. no matter how much i hated cleaning the toilets, there was no other way i was given time to think by myself about what i had to do.

  37. It was always such a chore to go out with her. I liked her when I first met her, but something about dating brings you closer to a person, and lets you see who they really are. She’s just so damn clingy; I don’t think I like her anymore…

    by Amber on 07.08.2011
  38. She had retired in her 40’s from a life of chores – looking after step sons who did little to help themselves, tending a house for the man who fathered them, and somewhere finding the time to improvise a dance move in the kitchen for the sake of her spirit.

  39. I dragged the wagon behind me as I walked across the beach. Sweat dripped down my brows and my muscles burned. This hurt so much I was ready to die. But these were my chores- later I would have to go through the process of taking the salt out of the water, but for now I was attempting to bring across the sandy stretch.

  40. When my chores are done, I’m supposed to go meet Cindy. Who knows if I’ll even get fifteen minutes with her tonight. She hates when I’m late, but I know she appreciates my showing up. If only she had company throughout the week to make her forget her troubles.
