  1. I miss the rawness of boxing. There was a time when it meant something. Ali helped make it huge, but he killed it too, just like he damaged himself by taking beatings. There is something about being punched in the face that is appealing.

    Scott
  2. Boxing is a violent cruel and often barbaric sport. Although it helps build upper body strength, and released tension and anger I would never participate and don’t know why anyone would want to.

    Gina
  3. Boxing causes a lot of harm and can be quite detrimental to one’s health, especially after a few strategically place hard blows. On the other hand, pun intended, it is exhilarating and a great form of exercise that teaches discipline and committment, with fantastic results in a short period of time, utilizing your weakest muscles, thus great strengthening sport! I have been in the best physical shape of my life when I enrolled in a boxing gym for exercise, as I was opposed to a regular gym, like a human rat on a treadmill, straight, incline, eliptical, etc. Boxing does let you take out your pent up aggressions in the right place… a heavy bag!

  4. boxing is a way to relieve stress for ;most, though some people make really good money off of it. ive boxed maybe twice in my life, but to no avail. other people put things in boxes… and this type of boxing i’ve done way more

  6. Ali, Muhammad, maybe. But what can kill you quick? A box cutter and a moving van will help go some place that you never seen before. Up the steps to the place were orchestra plays: this isn’t a fairy tell it’s a documentary

  9. Boxing. When I think of boxing, I think of the violence. I mean, I can understand the excitement and the entertainment of it, but it just seems so barbaric. To hit another man, to injure him, to beat him to a pulp for the pure sport and entertainment of it? How could I ever take part in it? How could I attempt to hurt a man – throw all of my weight into something – as part of some kind of sport.

    Nick Chu
  10. I dont like boxing, Its plain dumb to hit yourself or the opponent’s body and smash him in order to win. To win what? A fight? What could a fight for winning mean? You always should have a goal for a fight and try not to use violence!

  12. sitting in the room, the mother began boxing all of her daughter’s belongings away. “it’s better not to keep them out,” she thought, “best to not remind me that her death was my fault.”

  13. hit. throwing punches left to right, physical exhaustion. mental release, my mind is clear. all i am thinking of is making the contact, the impact and impression on the boxing bag. each punch, each throw is another step in a satisfying release.

  14. the gloves hit my face again, again, again, but i don’t really feel anything. i’m numb now. nothing. nothing. nothing. my nose is bleeding, i’m sure i’m missing a couple of teeth, but… it’s whatever, right ? I mean, this is what I do for a living. It pays the rent.

  15. i have seen it so many times….the way people just hit eachother with no feeling behind the punches… its like life…sometimes we win, and sometimes we lose….but we always put up a fight til the end.

    David Ellis
  16. lets take a look inside the medias latest growing trend…boxing. now this is not the traditional meatheads in a ring, this is a new age race against time to fit our problems, struggles and clutter into perfectly contructed storage units. boxing is taking over homes all over the united states and pushing housewives to their absolute limit. we are very excited to see how this sport will grow throughout the coming years especially with the spring cleaning season coming.

  20. boxing is the act of sleeping in a box. Cat like. Oh yeah. You wish you could. Cats are the bomb of box sleepers. Who wouldn’t want to sleep on old pizza grease? Pshaw. IT’s yummy.

    Liana
  21. You are constantly in a boxing match with my heart. My soul tries to punch back but you are far too strong.

  22. so my dad watches this crappy sport on hbo. people just walkt around throwing shots at each other. i hate the blood. eww gross. be a man and go to school. don’t do box

    Courtney
  23. Boxing is to put into a box or to fight with gloves. The boxers are put in a square, which I suppose could be called a box. Really it’s a barbaric sport, but it appeals to those animalistic urges which are so downplayed in society. Such a release of tension and instinct serves to control the animalistic portion of human nature. Human nature is a mixture of both the animal and something more.

    Matthew Mosquera
  24. pain, men, rough, tough, blood, i was sitting on the couch with you watching these two men fight for their lives. people watched and cheered and the men looked like they were dying but the wouldnt stop because of the cheering..

  25. Ali took down Frasier. He took down Foreman. He took down the best. Too bad he took down so much dick that it fucked up his throat and now he can’t speak well!

    Al
  26. Passion and brotherhood. The joy of standing toe to toe with another man, bonded by the agreement to battle one another is a remarkable thing. As sweat gathers in your eyes, and your breathing gets heavy you will know ecstasy.

    Riley Smith
  27. it’s about putting the limits on something real, something that is aching to get out. Of bounds we leap over to another place, that makes us feel alive.

    Paul
  28. Boxing is really fun. I like boxing. I wish I could be boxing all the time. You can hit and punch and kick? I think. I don’t box all that often. I am a liar. BOXING! I love boxing. Do you like boxing? I do. I love you and boxing, too. BOXOOXOXOXOOX. Looks like xoxox like hugs and kisses but hits and punches.

  29. They lined the wall of her basement, waiting. They taunted her as she walked by. She knew they’d get her eventually, but for now she had won.

    Trish
  30. Boxing invloves beating the hell out of someone. I mean… Why exactly would someone want to put on a pair of hard ass gloves and beat the shit out of another person right across from you? I mean.. I would like to take my anger out on a lot of people by boxing with them but I’m pretty sure I would much rather kill them.

    Jesse
  31. People get paid to slap and knock the shit out of another person. When televised it’s something we root for. If 100 feet away from the ring and two guys were going at it, we’d be worried as to what was the matter. In the ring it doesn’t. FLOAT LIKE A BUTTERFLY STING LIKE A BEE

    Toilytutu
  32. Take things and put them in boxes. Throw them away, or put them in storage, out of sight. You don’t need them. They’re just clutter, and they’ll continue needlessly filling up your life until you stash them away. Boxing is like cleansing, like freedom. Put it in a box and let it go.

    The Grey Hatter
  33. Hit one two three he’s out. He hits the ground with after I plant my fist into his solid thick skull. I don’t feellike I’ve won anything. I’m still riled up. I want more more ore. THe crowd is going wild and a small smiling man walks towards me to lift my fist into the air. It’s not over.

    Meredith

  38. The first thing i think about boxing is Rocky. I got to see the Rocky statue once in Philadelphia at the art museum. My class also got to run up the steps just like he did in the movie–it made you feel pretty good.

    elise
  39. Boxing. What can I say about boxing? I like boxes, they’re nice. But that has nothing to do with boxing. I would love to beat the shit out of someone, I guess that could be considered boxing. Maybe I’ll take it up as a hobby, who knows.

    Emily
  40. were fighting a battle against time in a boxing ring and guess whose winning. while i write this father time is taking a shot at my right arm. i block it with my left but as i enter the fourth sentence my defenses are down and he again lunges foward. the fist goes through my mask and my mouth piece flies to the floor. it was a cheap battle, but one i will never win for he just took three minutes of my life from me.
