  2. She had a benefits and then she realised that the benefits weren’t actually benefits because they weren’t actually benefiting her. So when Sean messaged her she flat out ignored him. Like, not just ignored but flat-out ignored. They had been communicating and seeing each other for a few weeks so her behaviour was rude, but she knew that she had to get away and start running right now. He could keep checking his phone indefinitely for a message from her which wouldn’t arrive and he would be sad and she would be smiling.

  3. She looked down the long list. Yes, there were a lot of bullets on the “con” side. But the pro’s had eeked out. Was that enough? She swallowed. She already knew the answer. She wanted to do it. She really really wanted to do it.

  6. The benefits someone can get from eating healthy are both physical and mental. Eating healthier makes people feel more energized, and happy, and it will make a person more fit, and active.

  7. Tim felt like he couldn’t leave his job because he didn’t want to lose his benefits. But at the same time, his job had impacted him so negatively that he needed to use his health benefits to survive. But if he left his job due to the toxicity of it, he’d lose his health benefits…that he was using because of the toxicity of his job.

    Thank God he didn’t drink to cope anymore. He swallowed a mouthful of ginger beer straight from the bottle and grimaced.

  8. Still bright-red circles spattered across the classifieds, but now its digital, a photo of a chance in a paper. One by one, the strike-through font dulls the circles the color of firetrucks, help becoming scarce as the fire grows malignant. It’s not enough, it’s not enough, not even asking for much. The circles entrap less interesting prey as time goes on. Drag my waking days down to death, for a chance to survive.
