  4. While on the bench i saw an old couple across from me. I saw them laugh, and reminisce. I was reminded of how i thought we would end up. How I couldn’t be more wrong. Because here I am on the bench alone.

  5. He always looks for one no matter where we walk. It’s some sort of test I have to think when I only use then for props but he uses them to rest and that’s why they exist I suppose.

  6. The tools were lined up on the bench. He had left them all cleaned and organized. She touched them lightly, to assure herself of his presence, of how he treated his plants with respect and the tools that he used to care for them. She did not move them, which would disturb his presence, as if she would preserving a monument until he returned.

  8. Sitting at a bench, lonely without a soul walking by. A strange unfamiliarity with the surroundings, were there trees or was it sand? Where had the bus stopped?

  9. They were sitting in the sun, the children rushing around on the playground, mulch flying under their feet. Looks like “floor is lava”. And they wondered how long it had been since they had been them, Grandma getting McDonalds and Uncle bringing bread to feed the ducks, and then swinging up to kick the moon.
