  4. Her approval meant everything. Her nod meant that the world was in the right place, a slight frown? You’d better rethink your strategy. When it came to her small niche she was queen of all. No one got past her. No one tried. It would be like dissing god. There was no way that they could ever do it.

  5. Approval is the word people crave for. It’s what makes people impressed with the world and themselves. We search for approval when we need it the most; when we are hurting for it.

  6. something to seek. something to long for. yet, it is quite elusive as it is only allowed to come to you through others. it is not something you can earn. it is not something you can deserve. it is something others may choose to bestow upon you. and while they may not, you can earn it from yourself. and give yourself what you are longing for.

    I smile in approval.

  9. I looked over to the girl beside me, her wide, vacant eyes catching mine.
“Sorry.” I murmured to no one in particular, she was already half way down the corridor.
Quietly, methodically, I berated my stupidity, gently pinched my thigh, suppressed the urge to reach for the blade I always carried.

her hands were cold, her eyes colder. “your turn.”

i held my breath; i wish my heart followed suit.

  12. Pending approval caused the appraisal to apply applicably.

  13. I already wrote about approval. But you see, I have something else to say. I hate not being what you want, and I suppose that’s disapproval. Approval doesn’t even exist! It’s like unicorns or god. It’s a nonexistent idea that everyone will always chase after.

  14. My hands shakes in anticipation. He was probably going to answer the door. I could just sense it. Should i look straight ahead or- or maybe just put my hands in my pocket? Yes, no. No don’t do that he won’t think your a gentleman and you need to be a gentleman in order to pass the test. Maybe just stand sideways, er- yeah. Yeah that’s good, maybe even- nah. Don’t put your hands on your hips they’ll think you into guys. It was so hard to get approval from her father. I just hope i don’t screw up again.

    by Zoe on 08.12.2012
  16. That is when someone says that they think that what you do or say is right or in any way good. When someone approves of what I say or do, I feel quite good. Approval is society’s way of saying: “Screw you” if you don’t follow the approved behaviour.

    by Alvaro Dumain on 08.12.2012

  21. Approval is awesome. It is when someone lets you do something. When someone is PROUD of you. Basically, it is a sense of accomplishment to all of the world. I love approval. It shapes out lives. I wouldn’t be what I am today without approval. I would be a broken down old teen who feels un- loved. That is not a good felling at all. We all know that!! Who doesn’t know that?

  22. I crossed my arms over my chest, and stared up at him with as much defiance as I could muster. “You have no power over me,” I huffed, and it was true. I didn’t need his approval before I did anything. In fact, he could go and screw himself for all I cared. So I gave him the middle finger, and then just walked away.

  24. Approval, it’s a funny thing. No matter how much you try to convince yourself otherwise you find yourself needing it. Molding yourself to attain it.
It amazes me to still crave it.
Should I do that? everyone nods. Oh yes, sure then that must be the right path for me.
    Depressing isn’t it?
Especially the fact that I crave it most from my parents. The people I seem to get it the least from…

  29. I don’t need anyone’s approval to live my life. A life worth living is a life worth living the way you want it. No one needs the approval of others to be happy or fulfilled with life, only the approval of themselves. Life is what we make of it, not what others want you to make of it. Be happy, you only live once.

  33. Approval for being yourself. Approval for everything you’ve done. Why do humans always need approval for everything? Is that just how we are made? How can that be healthy? Constantly seeking approval for everything you do and everything you have ever done?

    by Sarah on 08.12.2012
  34. You need approvals to do everything. Especially when you feel inferior. Desire for approval makes people anxious about everything they do. They are limited by religion and law.

The best things in life are never bound to approvals. Everyone should know that before asking for it

    by Davor Dubravic on 08.12.2012
  35. I was seeking his approval in some way I couldn’t quite define. I wanted him to want me, and I wasn’t sure what that meant. Did I sense a connection? Or did I just want to win him over?
