"What the fuck kind of stunt was that in there?" Angus yelled. Jodie flinched at the sound of the door slamming behind him. "I don't— I don't know! I just— I freaked out!" she said. Her eyes were still going blue, air around her still shimmering with magic. "Everybody /saw/, Jodie. We're going to have to move, again! I can't—" Angus kicked a chair at the table, cussing up a storm. "I don't have the money to keep doing this, Jodie. You need to get your powers /under control/, or I'm not going to be able to help you out anymore. Tears were already there, but at Angus's words they fell, dripping down Jodie's face and to the floor like syrup, melting through the linoleum when they hit, bright blue, gooey globs of acid. She rubbed at her eyes with the heels of her palms. "I can't!" she shouted, and the vending machine glass shattered. Noise filled the room and she fell to her knees, skirt billowing. "I can't, I can't—"
