It’s a shame that the professional landscape is so competitive. We are so ready to cut each other down instead of lifting each other up. Is it scarcity? Fear? Narcissism?

Curious is the name of a Britney Spears album . . . or song? Or perhaps it is just the word that brings Britney to mind, as if I need anyone to do that. Innocent, but interested in exploring, it implies niavete, peeking shyly underneath clothing, in drawers, in forbidden places. Curious is a pretty sexy word at the end of the day.

Trailer, trailer, why do you have such a stigma? What is wrong with a trailer park, besides the associations that are ingrained in our brains? There is nothing inherently wrong with a park of trailers. In fact, I’ve always thought that it would be a pretty good deal to live in such a park with a shit ton of friends. Every night, songs around a camp fire, and cookouts. Kids running around in their underwear. Pranks gallore. We would have to be somewhere with perfect weather, so no tornado or ice storm would disturb our revery, our constant party, our perfect trailer commune.

i always wanted to name my dog gadget. i also love gadgets. my mom always buys new gadgets to try them out and always returns them. sometimes i wish she would keep them because she deserves to treat herself.

Kites represent being hopeful and optimistic about life. Seeing kites make me so happy. B and I flew kites at Mission Beach over spring break and it was so fun. They make me think that everything is going to be great.

I want to fly over the warm summer air. I want those powerful gusts to lift me up and throw me high into the clouds to meld in the atmosphere between that thin line of sun and stars. I want to run in the grass and fly my kite.

I try and try and try but it seems no matter what effort I put into it I’ll always have that knee jerk reaction when I see you that makes me want to run to you and bury myself in your arms. It’s part of me.

i like specific things. not all things, just things that specifically, mean something to me. i dont think most people understand what these specific things are and i am often misjudged by the public. public transportation. now thats something i specifically don’t like.

vows like weddings; surely. are weddings going out of fashion? i believe they’ll always have a place in tradition, although their importance is much less than it had once been…

gentle is a baby’s cheek. or the breeze at the beginning of fall, when you think that the season is always sunny and never turns cold. its a kind of softness and lacking entirely of fear. unconditional love is gentle. so are slippers on my feet.

Cash Cash cash. my cousin in law wants to name her son Cassius and call him Cash. I don’t know– sounds like an outlaw. Or a rapper. I couldn’t go for it. It seems like a name you’d have to earn, not just be assigned. You get this reputation that you only do things you get paid for.

this is obviously an appropriate word for today, a post-blizzard day if there ever was one. it was beautiful. the snow falling large wafers outside my window. some moments, you could actually watch the wind change. as most of the flakes fell diagonally to the left, small minor funnel cloud would hover behind, and then they would begin falling diagonally to the right.

when my husband was mugged outside of our apartment, I attached the pepper spray my aunt had once given me to my keys. Now they are a large difficult-to-lose mass in my enormous bag, but I still lose them. There should be a chip you insert into one of your fingernails that calls your keys when you press down on it.
