masters

Masters are all around me. They tell me to do things. They make me go places. Masters control me. I want to be free. Free to do what I want. Free to go where I want. Free to be me.

a master is usually defined as someone who is above you. like a monarch (king & queen) they use there “power” to either better there kingdom or themselves. the word could also mean someone else like in a pack the master of the pack is called the alpha. there are some cases where there is no master like in a symbiotic relationship or a democracy. the word people use to define the monarch that helps themselves and doesn’t help their people is called parasitic. for religious people refer to king Noah.

rafters

Rafters are in my house. I can hide things in the rafters. I can hide myself in the rafters. They are a place of protection and strength. I like to think that I could be a rafter for someone else.

cement

We heard the sirens and Sarah ran like the wind, leaving me awkwardly looking at her mother and standing on the sidewalk. I finally caught up to her around the corner. A tar truck that was fixing a roof had caught fire and rolled into the cement driveway. Dozens of people stood around watching it burn…

Buddha

Hindu god. usually shown with a large stomach. Rub it for good luck. Is he the “biggest” god? Comparable to Zeus? Wow, I really don’t know much about this guy. I have a bust of Buddha at home; sometimes it feels like it’s looking at me. Freaks me out, if I’m being honest.

unanswered

There are many things I’ve come to learn about the ending of any relationship, one of the most important being learning to be okay with the unanswered. The what if’s, why’s, the how comes. If we’re ever to fully immerse ourselves in the lessons and experience of what was, we need to be okay with not knowing what could’ve been.

occupancy

someone living in a home, space. Filling a space with something but it is nothing until you make it something important. Full occupancy means the space is full. Make sure it is something that should be filling the space – not wasting space. Think about this is my mind and making sure that my mind is filled with important information and my day is centered around the things that are important to me vs. the things on a list. Write down different lists – to do is efficient and important. But I need to determine what is important to me and have that list at the top of all my pages. What is important to me. Family, being happy, creating a financially sound environment and being healthy. hmmm, not one of those items included how important it is for me to do 100 things of “to dos”. However, the to dos are important too otherwise the financial sound aspect isn’t going to get done.

instant

Instantaneous. In a moment. This is. This is now. Here we are, settled on this earth. One planet—one place. This is our home and in an instant it could all be gone. We could be alone. Afraid. Solitary. One instant means nothing and one instant means everything.

murder

I shot him in the back and he slumped to the ground. What had I done? I ended this man’s life. He was gone, at my doing. I turned the gun on myself. The bullet exploded through my skull. This was the end.

cry

the words were too wet to read but at least outside they were drying…well actually freezing and her face was cold and burning where the tears had been. Too bad no one could hear her she thought someone might comfort her which was all she wanted, just a little softness on this cold day.

together

We have come together somehow as a world, united together, as one. Sometimes we fall a part and are no longer together, but we always find out way back. That is whats important right? Being together in the end, but not always at the beginning. The journey is findings out way back together. As humans come together the world changes, we change, you change, and the world is a better place.

key

Keys are hard to hold onto, easy to lose, and ridiculously important. Keys are the opener of doors and the lockers of homes.

The key to living well is loving grandly, caring deeply, and thinking freely.

weave

Weave is a hairstyle that I see a lot of black girls wear. I don’t know much about it, except that it’s fake hair. Weave could also be a verb; to weave a basket, to weave a web. Go in and out…in and out…

camera

Cameras are used to take pictures. some use film and need to be developed, while others use digital formats, such as Sd cards. Cameras used to be large and clunky, but now they are built into phones. Many pictures are measured in terms of picture resolution, known as megapixels.

festival

I strolled through the park uring the Winter Festival last weekend. People were having such a good time and I wondered how I could feel so alone in the middle of this raucous crowd. Was I invisible?

fences

Fences go around a house. They are sweet. And they look nice. Tom Sawyer had to paint one once. Wait, was that Tom Sawyer? Hmmmm, the book by Mark Twain? Oh, I like fences. I’m done and have 10 seconds left. Fail. Bye.

preoccupied

I am too preoccupied by 17 again to do any homework right now. However, I intentionally distracted myself with tv because articles are boring and I currently don’t give a shit about the future of the lake trout in Canada. Trout are gross. I prefer salmon. Salmon and bannock was awesome today but also I feel super full now and that

deer

Oh how you run in front of my car and freak me out. Seeing many of your family lying lifeless on the road, saddens me. Why don’t you stay inside the forest? Why aren’t you frightened by the roaring cars? Your eyes reflect, I slow down. You and your little ones make it across the danger zone safely this time. With others be as observant as I? I can only do my part and pay attention.

Deer run in the forest. The are sweet, like Bambi. Deer are also very graceful, but often hunted for meat and sport. Deer will be trapped in the headlights of a car, freezing in place. Deer have fluffy tails.

succeed

success is everyone’s goal, isn’t it? it is what everyone works so hard for, what everyone dreams of as they stress out in school and all throughout life. but when they are on their deathbed, what is success? what does “succeed” mean? maybe it will mean taking that one chance that one time. or making that one friend that one time. or breaking up with that bad boyfriend/girlfriend that one time to make room in their life for another.

punishment

I associate this word with the death penalty, for some reason, and don’t like it as a motivating factor in dealing with society’s criminals. It leads to bad decision-making and social policy. I’m actually for the death penality (what with prison reform being where it is), but as an act of prevention – to protect the criminal’s next innocent victim – rather than as act of punishment. Punishment does not act as a deterrent against crime or other moral wrongdoing and therefore should not be a motivating factor for legislatures or voters in dealing with criminals.

sticks

Sticks, sticks, pick up sticks all day long and make a house of sticks not bricks, but sticks. I can’t stick to anything like a diet or whatever but it sure sticks to me!
