bulb – lightbulb! 9th grade biology, first test, where mr. olson asked us how many plants it takes to screw in a lightbulb (what?). light, lamps, happiness. i’d really like a lava lamp for the room. bulb could also be a tulip bulb! flowers and sunshine, which links back to light. emanating a bright happy glow. i’m picturing a field full of yellow tulips, somewhere in europe (i’m sure there will also be a windmill and some sort of julie andrews song playing in the background).

flight. i’m going to be on one of those and be home, in my room, in my house, with my family – starting december 17! excitement. flight – normally i feel anxious and ready for space and a break from everything but at this point, things are good. i like where i am and surprisingly don’t feel a need to pursue the “flight” and bail approach. planes and birds and leaving, oh my oh my.

hill – foss hill. i miss springtime and sunshine and when things made sense, sort of. i pass foss hill as the last stop when giving tours, and it’s nice to talk about sledding on trays (last year when sarah, kelli, turner, nelson, and i did that!) or mud sliding or setting up a water slide. hill could be an obstacle – something to get through and to pass in order to make it to the other side.

evidence – from debate. when we would carry tubs of stuff into rounds and pull out topicality, theory, and actual cases. evidence – from law and order: svu, using dna evidence and x/y chromosome to solve cases. evidence – used for history papers (what i should be doing instead of being on oneword). i want some evidence of things all turning out for the best, but i guess that’s juts having faith.

feathered. birds, cardinals. about seeing a turkey in the butthole. warm down blankets. pillows! having a pillow fight outside. feathered also can refer to clothing. cardigan sweaters. i used to hate those until i realized they could be chic and fun and layered. i want to jump into a pile of feathers and then swim around for a bit and pretend like nothing else exists, like it’s not monday, practically 1am, and that i have three papers due in the next 72 hours. feathers. feathered. something cozy and warm and hot cocoa filled.
