One sip. One cup. It’s all good, it’s fine. You can drink it don’t worry. it doesn’t taste as bitter as your grandparents’ New years wine and champagne. It doesn’t smell as bad as your mother’s vodka. it’s fine. Take a sip. Drink a cup. It’s fine.

Everyone’s a friend or an unknown. They won’t judge, will they? They will, only if you don’t drink. Don’t be rude, take a sip. Take one. Take two. Grab a cup and down it.

The room was white, sterile but still full of the stench people. The sound of hacking coughs, quiet weazing and beeping monitors was all she could hear. Alex sat on her father’s bed, hand wrapped around his. His quiet breathing drowned out by the monitor beside him. She wasn’t too late.

Rays of sun are covering the leaves fallen on the ground in autumn. This is the most beautiful picture of this season I imagine in Berlin. Sun, leaves, chilly weather. It’s probably the most dreamlike image during this time of the year.

I didn’t want to get on the stage, performing in front of the rumbling crowd.
I didn’t want to step onto the platform in my shiny black shoes, twirling and jumping in front of strangers; faces of cameras rather than people.
I wanted to go home, to crawl back into my nook, my comfort.
I wanted to be swallowed by blankets and books and mugs of hot cocoa, curled up with my puppy while the sun slowly set.

But here I am, set in the spotlight. Frozen. Cold. And bright.

I take my life for rented. I’m a 15-year-old Pakistaní un-schooled teenage girl, and I sell my body for a living. Mom has 11 children, I’m the 5th of them, and also, the strongest one; my two olders siblings left home when they were 18, they just ran away and never came back, in between of them and me are my sister Lupita, aged 24 who has Down Syndrome and my sister Grecia, 22, who is pregnant with her second child, I hope I filled in the blank. My name’s Poshka, and I’m also a burnt child.

It begans with a t and so it ends. Tristan. My love. The first one. The best one. The last one. Was it spring or fall when I met you? Racing against my pulse I met you, our eyes crossed as if we were not there, as if we were invisible, or perhaps, only translucent.

I left behind a world of my own today
and entered the new one
full of people outside my head
and god, it’s wonderful.

Festive. f-e-s-t-i-v-e. Festive. It smells like mistletoe and holly berries, it looks rather green and red, and it feel like the fluffiest snow on the most magical white Christmas there ever was.

My friend has auburn hair. Everyone calls her a ginger and says she has red hair and even though she is fine with it, we both know that her hair is auburn, not red. It’s weird to call her a ginger when someone with real red hair is standing right next to her.

I must. I must write something here in the allotted time. I must make something of myself. I must, I must, I must, I must. Why must we make everything so forceful? Why “must” we anything? Why can’t we just do? And allow?

Everything has a place, right? But is everything placed? How is it that we arrive at any given destination? How is it that anything belongs anywhere at all? Do we get there ourselves or are we merely placed by something far larger than us?

the most beautiful gift of life, came to me. i could write about how i cherish it forever, but i won’t last forever. but i recieved it. without asking, without knowing how to live. it’s almost a river. i recieved a river and now i must learn how to swim along with the course, not against it. the gift of life was given to me.

She felt as if every single drop of water had left her body and taken along all of her joy and will. Dehydrated and empty. In that last morning she was nothing but a shell. She left without looking back.

The great chain of being is a class system that is still partially around today. At the top of the great chain of being is God and the “earthly embodiment of god”, the king and the Pope. There were many debates about whether the Pope or the King should be higher. Those who say that the Pope should be argue that the Pope crowns the king; however, one must remember that the king gives the pope his power. Next is the aristocracy, usually land owners who pass down their money once they die. One step down from them is the clergy; then the “middling orders” this is NOT the middle class, rather, it is a class made up of merchants and semi-wealthy individuals like bankers and doctors. These people would eventually end up making up a society of “the new wealth” or, in other words, they have “new money”. This causes the “old money” (aka the aristocracy) to be angry at them and they don’t accept these to be wealthy because their money was not passed down through the generations. A modern day example of new money is Bill Gates, and an example of old money would be Paris HIlton. After them are the Peasants. These people usually lead a good life, despite not being wealthy. Finally, are the poor and the slaves. Each home had its own “great chain” that went from father to mother to son to daughter and then finally the slaves. Everyone had to be respectful of their elders. The great chain was broken down through events such as Martin Luther’s reformation, the revolutions (American, The Glorious Revolution (England), and the French Revolution), and the great and good wars (WWI and WWII). The last 2 undermined kings who said that the war would be over in months, but instead caused catastrophe. Now, few people believe in the chain. However, the current queen of England still does. Her sons however don’t.

I was sitting a while near a turbine. And suddenly a big noise came from over the big thing across the street, everything went dark. And my life was over. But not my soul.
