The quilted blanket we won had a meaningful symbol that represented our community. The quilt hangs on our basement wall, and is a good reminder for what our community stands for.

She wore an elaborate mask that reflected the light you gave back to you. It made her appear radiant and joyful, and complex from all angles

There is no uncertainty in this grove of everlasting sugar trees. The sweets pour down on me, when I’m on my knees. Addiction is killing me. I take it all in, one gulp after gasp. I cannot take enough. I am certain I will die. I am exhausted from not dying. But here I am, in the grove.

The leaves danced on the water. The light danced on the edge of a blade. The wind danced in the blades of grass. The flies danced along the corpse curled in the forest underbrush. The adrenaline danced in her veins. The earth danced around the sun. Everything everywhere was a convoluted dance.

The cement is hard, cold under my skin. reminds me that I’m alive. that not all things have to be soft to be comforting. its real and brings me to my senses.

I think that this is something that I am constantly looking for. Life would be so much easier if I had all the answers or if the answers were neat and tidy. Life would be so much simpler.

Immediately think of the terrible series of Vampire novels or a middle – aged housewife that is always in the kitchen, whilst sporting a cropped hair do. She must be someone who enjoys eating sandwiches.

Car freshener. Cheap perfume. The Dharma Bums. A staggering and isolated place. Ouch.

All we do all day is stare at the screens. You see them change the people who stare at them, becoming ghostly images of themselves. Skin fading to pasty white, attention diminishing in the brightness of the real world around them The screen is all, is the alter to which we must sacrifice, not blood or animals or naked virgins but our very life and souls. Because if you do not exist within the world of the screen, you are not real.

He’d been a dentist all his life but he’d never seen teeth like hers before. He’d learned a long time ago, there was no such thing as a natural perfect set of teeth. Coffee, cigarrettes, even just plain food stained teeth, if they weren’t cared for there were the pockmarks, the crookedness taht could only be fixed by an orthodonist. No one had perfect teeth.

She did.

She felt like she was being prosecuted by the very people who she had gone to for help. She stood there, hands by her sides, legs trembling, not knowing in the slightest how to respond to the woman’s question.
“Where is *your* responsibility for this?” the woman demanded. “You’ve worked in finance, haven’t you? You *knew* this wasn’t okay. Why did you do it?”

It reminds me of that movie, steel magnolias. only who would want a flower made of steel. unless it’s an analogy for that which appears to be delicate, but which is actually unbreakable. Magnolias are breakable – extremely so.

the council wouldn’t hear of it, my appeal was turned down but that wasn’t about to be the end of this fight. they had my brother and if they thought for even a second i would sit by and let the torture they would inflict on him continue they had another thing coming. the training needed to pay off, whether or not i had finished it didn’t matter at this point because the war had already begun.

Ding, the oven timer is done. She rushes over to take out the meal she just prepared. He would be home any minute and it had to be perfect. She had been working for hours on the meal, but little did she know he had been drinking for hours. When he came home he was so drunk that the second after he walked in the door he was passed out on the couch.

coming home from the beach. or the gym. sweat is clean- not public transport sweat or concert sweat. well-earned sweat, at-least-i-tried sweat, a-fuck-you-to-them sweat. 2016 is going to be clean.

you breathe life into everything you touch. daffodils sprout from the pavement, vines grow clinging to fire escape rails, drawling laughter from my reluctant lips. you hold my hand, and where we touch, i am excited, for once in my life, about my own future. and in turn, you look at me, suddenly serious, eyes dark, demeanour calm, a reflection of who i can sometimes be. and we stand, in sync, me brimming over with love, you at peace with the idea of us, just us, together.

you were all sharp lines and angles, cheekbones ice chips and eyes that could cut through glass. i was rounded lips and cheeky smiles- and somehow we worked together just fine

anatomy refers to the body parts of something. This makes me think of horror movies and zombies with body parts flying through the air and screams as loud as a jet plane.

I prefer to eat healthy food than to eat rubbish. This is because I feel so much better after I have eaten good food. My skin is clearer and my energy is higher. I find it so much easier to concentrate and I feel happier when I have eaten good food. When I eat bad food, I feel sluggish and lazy, that is why I prefer to eat well!

The music she heard derived from the way the girl in front of her moved. Every time this girl swayed to nothingness, melodies played in her head. She was sure the girl could hear nothing of the sort. But she could. Oh god. She could.

On the fence. Struggling between two difficult choices. Sport. Sport of choosing which path to cross, which way to change your life? On the fence.

Life sometimes feels pointless. It’s all a lottery, every last inch of it. A timeline that must come to an end eventually. Everything comes to an end. A life, a friendship, a relationship, everything.
