dryer

The dryer thumped against the wall, as it had done every day for the past five years. I’d asked her to fix it but she still hadn’t even looked at the damn thing. I’d look at it myself but there’s no way you could get me into the guts of one of those things. TO be fair, I can’t blame her. Ever since we invented nuclear-powered dryers, it’s been difficult to do home repairs…

majority

ancient bones scatter as we push our way into the tomb. there’s no life left here. death hangs dry in the air, not heavy as it should be, but light and gaseous.

the bones here are those of the white man. the once majority annihilated in nuclear fire by their own hand. a symbol of our dark past – before we became Space Africa

beach

Beach is amazing. There’s sand everywhere. Sand is squishy! I really want to watch Finding Dory. Apparently it’s really good. But in my opinion, it sounds really sad… and I don’t like it already. I don’t usually go to the beach during the summer because I have classes everyday. It’s really fun when I went there though.

polo

Polo is a game. Polo is also a sport. Polo is played on horses. Polo is a comfortable, collared shirt. I have never thought about this, but I wonder if someone has ever played polo wearing a Polo. I imagine they have. I am currently bored and am watching The Matrix on TV so I’m not sure why I’m writing about polo. It also reminds me of polio, which is kind of sad.

doubt

I doubt it.
She stared at me. “What did you say?”
“I said I doubt it. All of this stuff that happened, all the things we did together. I doubt you would make it three days without me.”

failing

“Time’s up!”
She glared at the top of my head, which was pointed at her as I finished writing my last sentence. I slowly brought my pen to the well worn surface of my desk, and looked up to meet her gaze.
“Here you are”
I stood, handing her the paper, and left her alone in the classroom.

“Time’s up!”
He looked up from the desk, slowly bringing his pen down to the well-worn surface. Meeting his teacher’s gaze, he saw that she wore one of amusement. Looking around the room, he realized that he was the last student remaining, something which he had expected.

balloon

I let go of my red balloon and watched in drift into the sky. It was magnificent. So much freedom with one miniscule act. It now gets to live the rest of its live soaring over the world; seeing some of the most fantastic sites ever. I envy my red balloon.

wafer

wafers are a type of biscuit that i never really liked that much as a child and havnt eaten that much since. you can get these pink wafer things that are chewier than the normal wafers, and theyre pretty good. you can also get some nice wafers that go in the top of ice cream, which is nice. but all in alll theyre pretty samey and i taste a bit boring. Also, why do they have to be so thin?

leading

Leading the charge was the most timid, weak individual that you had ever laid eyes upon, but he did so with a ferocity displayed by the most seasoned of combat veterans.

Some days I’m barely a manager. Managing is for folks with the resources to… well, manage. If I can’t manage, can I call myself a manager, whatever my job title might be?

beloved

I don’t really get the point of this. Am I supposed to describe what i think beloved means to me? It doesn’t really mean much to me. It’s just one of those concept that the human race invented to make itself feel meaningful and intellectual.

curious

Curiosity killed the cat, so the saying goes. However, in writing killing one’s own curiosity stifles energy and creativity. Curiosity is an engine for the writer.

styrofoam

I really don’t like styrofoam cups. I get this weird urge to nibble on the tops, where my lips meet the liquid. Is it odd for me to say this? I can;t think of any other way to try and explain the sensation. But when I bite into the cup, I hate to sensation of the gritty feel between my teeth. and when i go for another sip, I bite into it again.

audience

The audience was abundant. Thick and diverse they were. Staring back at me. I was cowardice. I was alone. The microphone and I were the only two, the only two who could rebuke the fiery stare of 5,000 pairs of eyes.
