Pour out the water. This word makes me see a pitcher in my mind. It’s nice. It’s on a table. The window is open. There is a breeze. It looks out onto the ocean like in the opening credits of Cinema Paradiso. I’m thirsty. I wish my life were more like that film, and I don’t.

Mayor of Casterbridge? No that’s old news. Mayor of some overly frequented joint on Foursquare? Now that’s modern. Or maybe not. Maybe even that is old news. Facebook, Yelp, and who knows who else can check in places. Being mayor means less and less.

The first thing I thought of was LendingTree.com. How is that for consumerism? I guess now I’m thinking of The Merchant of Venice for obvious reasons. I don’t mean that in a racist way. Now I’m thinking of people lending their opinions.

I find it strange that this is a word on here. I would think that with all the technologies available shorthand was already a thing of the past. I wonder if any of the other users here don’t even know what shorthand is. Shorthand reminds me of my mother. I think she knew it.

I was nominated for some school office in grade school. I didn’t win. The next year I was someone’s campaign manager who also didn’t win. But in college I became the chair of the student senate during my first run and was re-elected. I forget who nominated me. Go figure.

I’m supposed to sit upright. I just had an ergonomic assessment at my work. I sit on one of my feet generally, and apparently that isn’t good, nor does it help my typing position or slouching. I wish today’s word was uptight. I could write more about that. The song that’s playing now is annoying.

Yesterday I just unfollowed someone on Twitter who had a hearing problem or so his profile said. He said he was deaf. I followed him because he followed me, but I decided to clean out the people I don’t actually know in real life or know who they are otherwise. It had nothing to do with him being deaf.

Separate as a verb. I guess that’s depressing. It shouldn’t be. Going your separate ways is often the healthiest choice to make. It’s just often difficult to do. It hurts and sometimes it’s ugly. But in the end it’s better.

I have no idea what to write about for this word. I’m not even positive I know what it means. How ignorant I am.

Alibi makes me think of criminals, when it should make me think of innocent people. I think of cameras inside convenience stores that time stamp and show that someone was someplace else at the time something horrible happened elsewhere. I think of the term “air tight.”

This makes me think about getting cut with fiberglass. I hate that. You can’t see it but it just hurts. I don’t even like hearing this word. It makes my skin tingle. Glass hurts. That’s all I can think about saying about it. Sorry there wasn’t more. I guess there’s also the moon.

The sound I’m listening to right now is industrial music being played on Radio Blast Furnace. I guess that means that it’s a lot of sounds. I love them all. I also think of Puget Sound, which is my dream place to live someday. I love how I feel when I’m there. I could write endlessly.

Swan makes me think swan song. Which makes me think Charles Baudelaire. I guess it also makes me think of my dead friend Stephen, because he wrote a story that mentioned a swan, but wasn’t actually in it. I wonder if they really don’t make noise.

Slight of hand is the first thing that comes to mind. I learned that term from my eldest sister long ago. She wasn’t a card shark or anything. I think we were watching something on tv and she used the term to comment on something. It took me a moment to understand what it meant. I don’t know if I’ve ever said that term myself.

I just wrote on my to do list minutes ago that I need to buy new sunglasses. What a coincidence that that is today’s magic word. I don’t like the pair I’m wearing now, and I have two pairs of them. The pair I liked has a broken lens. I dropped them in a parking garage. It must have fallen perfectly.

When I think of an earring, I don’t think of me, even though I technically have a few in both ears. Instead I think of you, and the way your earrings are a smaller gauge where they pierce the ear because you got pierced with a gun. I like it though.

My friend Lindsay loves her step classes. I wish I had the nerve to go to step. It looks like such good exercise, but I’m too self conscious that people will look at me and laugh. There are so many mirrors and too many windows. I would feel like there was a spotlight on me. So I stay fat.

My friend Ed writes about his muses all the time. He makes songs for them. I guess I write for mine, but I call them crushes. Usually, I’m thinking of someone when I begin writing something. Usually I lose them along the way. Most always, I want them to see what I’ve written.

There is a lot that will amuse me when I think of my best friend from childhood. He just had that kind of wit. It’s too bad he’s dead now. I wish he wasn’t. Too young. People shouldn’t die like that.

Band feels like music. So there. Today I was listening to the Cocteau Twins and The Spanglemaker played. I always avoid this song because it reminds me of someone who is dead and I still miss. Maybe I need a band aid. That wasn’t clever. I know it. They’re still playing.

I never had a canteen when I was little. I guess I didn’t have one as an adult either. The boy across the street had one. I thought that was so cool. It didn’t matter if I was thirsty or not. It was cool to have. He was in the cub scouts. That wolf patch was cool.

Olympic torch. Torch the house. Torch, a song by The Sisters of Mercy. Blow torch. I think in some countries they refer to cigarette lighters as torches. This is a lame post. If it weren’t digital, I’d torch it.

I’m working on getting a photograph taken of an anteater at night that is backlit so that it glows. It’s not a real anteater. It’s our school’s mascot. The backlit version hangs on the clock tower. The photo is gonna cost $300. Whatever. glowing costs.

Today I signed a card that went around the office for a man who just lost his grandmother. I hope that somehow the combined messages were able to console him in some tiny way. I miss my grandmother as well.

This makes me think of theater. Wearing black. Being back stage. Being able to see the audience when they can’t see you. I’ve only crewed once. Maybe it doesn’t stay magical.

I wish people used this word as an insult still. I only get to hear it in old movies and I Love Lucy. It makes me laugh. I don’t know why. Maybe because it seems so tame and dated. I wonder if anyone old ever called me a heel.

Eyeliner was the line I crossed with my father. That was just too much for him and his unathletic high school aged son. That’s when friends of my friends began to find me weird too. I didn’t even apply it well. I thought I did. I didn’t.

I only went to camp once. And that was because everyone went. Or rather got to go. I loved it. Gote and I got in trouble for wandering off in the woods. I was so sad when we had to leave. I still think of the song they sang on the day we departed. That was so long ago.

in third grade we made a big dinosaur out of paper mache. of course it was t-rex. we had a drawing afterwards to see who would get to take it home. it was huge. Jeff was happy and the envy of us all. but even then, i knew his mother would throw it away. all that work. we loved him.
