The needles were weaving in front of me, like sharp knifes in a dark room. I needed to get away, I needed to run, but to where? How? You can’t escape reality…

denim

When I was younger, one of the ways my aunt would punish me for bad behavior was to make me wear the same pair of jeans all week. It sapped my feelings of individuality and as a result I have become resistant to the idea of wearing jeans unless incredibly necessary. Denim is a symbol of being controlled for me and ever since I primarily wear skirts, shorts, and leggings.

Being one to think about your life. To get away for the rush of life.

fled

I fled from the scene.
I’ve fled before I could get involved.
My father had fled away with the birds, as if he wasn’t immoral.
I fled from my home, didn’t think of any use being there.

counted

Her days were counted.

She sat on the white empty sheets of her bed and drew open the curtain just in front of her. Everything seemed strangely bleak. The sky was grey, the birds were grey and even many of the pedestrians wore grey clothes. The cars zooming by her were silver, if not, grey.

Everything seemed so desolate. Her life was even worse. Desperate. Drained.

pupil

Pupil. child. But most of all, innocence. A pupil will someday have to undergo such harsh times in their life, therefore losing their innocence. That, child is no longer a pupil anymore. Once their innocence is taken, it won’t come back. It is a part of life, and a part of growing up.

The songwriter had proven that his emotions were so beautifull that he could manage to make anyone fall in love with him just by writing. And so he kept writing.

stampede

I hate stampedes. The roaring of maniacs all rushing for just one crazy little Hello Kitty doll, eardrum-splitting shrieks of people tumbling down like rag dolls being shoved about roughly on the sea of torrentious waves of humanity, the gruesome sight of people being pushed down onto the floor and their faces being contorted into strange but ghastly features…

ravenous

How do you feel when you see food in front of you? For me, I have a weak spot for food and I am often ravenous at the mere sight of food displayed right under my very nose. My stomach would rumble like a ravenous wolf, ready to launch at attack at the sumptuous food before me.

historic

The dilapidated mansion had suffered its many agonies of inexorably heavy rain further exacerbated by the relentless and merciless heat from the sun. Its surface was like a battered piece of a crumpled paper bag, with large and hideous holes revealing the portions of the caved roof that once sat atop of the once-majestic house. Yet, this was the very same place which housed Beethoven centuries ago. What a historic monument standing forlornly in the bustling city in the year 2900.

savage

In the savage wild, the lions and its cubs were plagued with thirst and hunger. It seemed as though all forms of life had disappeared from the barren forest. Fatigued from all the hours spent ambling across the desolate piece of forest, they decided to take a nap, huddling together from the intense heat from the merciless sun.

chivalry

She has the chivalry of a steed of muscle.

What is chivalry? It is a synonym of bravery.

She was brave enough to save a drowning kitten out of a drain near her house.
Some even says that she is plucky like a determined person always winning when chances are slim.

rally

It was the National Day Rally again on the 18 August, about a week after Singapore’s birthday.

As PM Lee Hsien Loong was giving his speech during the rally, I could not help but admire the tremendous effort that PM Lee used to harness support from his die-hard fans. I also cannot help but feel proud of Singapore who has come so much from her humble past and is to strive for the better future ahead of her.

wrapped

She wrapped the little toy dog with a piece of paper that looked more like the crumpled skin of an elephant.

She was a poor little girl and yet she felt she was compelled to give her friend at least a decent gift.

Then, carefully and bashfully, she knocked on the door of her friend’s house and was wrapped with fear and anticipation.

decoy

He stood at the edge of the trees looking at the best deer he had seen in a long time. He leveled his rifle and took aim. He fired at the middle as not to miss and the whole thing fell over. That is when he heard the footsteps behind him and turned to see the smiling face of the game warden.

bowling

I was never much of a fan for bowling, what with my shoddy aiming skills and my ability to actually throw (roll?) the ball right. So I have only been able to make a few points in the games that I’ve played so far.

Ch-ch-chain! Chain of fools. What exactly is a chain of fools? Is it like that old game with the small, colorful plastic monkeys? I loved that game, but I can’t remember what it is called.
