snow that is crisp on the ground and wet in my hair. water that runs easily from the taps, the opposite of the end of the day. guzzling something cool and silky. the feeling after you have recovered from a sickness. a clean pair of socks. the wintertime.

baby rattles…one of the pictures associated with new life. speaking of babies, I’m very excited for the soon-to-be new addition to my family in the form of my first nephew. I’m so excited. His arrival is making my brother the happiest I’ve ever seen him…and I am so happy and grateful to see that.

first thing I saw was scared…then I realized my would be dyslexia was just kicking in…sacred, what’s sacred to me? my friends, my family, the moments of truly uninhibited laughter, cherished smiles, memories that I’ll never forget….sacred, what’s sacred to you?

Don’t you ever tire? Doesn’t he ever tire? I do. Even now, I have no strength left. How does he do it? How does he push himself beyond limits? How does he stand the pressure? I thought I could, but I can’t anymore. I never could. I’m not him. Aren’t you tired of convincing yourself that I am?

If I were home, in suburbia, the world would be pretty still right about now. Alas, I’m in the lovely city of Philadelphia and the concept of being still is almost contradictory. Though nothing compares to walking along Market St at 12:30 at night and actually being the only one there for a two block radius. Serene. Beautiful. Rare.

supersonic. hypnotic. funky fresh. …or something like that…other than that, I got cars which leads me to physics which leads me to the test I’m going to fail tomorrow. I should be studying for that instead of doing this…

is it weird that the first thing I think of is math? That’s awful. But the next thing is these dumb protestors outside my window yesterday. Were they trying to be “radical” with their “We are the 99%” bullshit? I mean, a guy told my friend to join them because the other 1% is lamer. seems like he knows his politics.

My mom always tells me I need to iron my clothes. But I’m pretty lazy when it comes to things like that…it’s going to get wrinkled anyway…yeeeep…

of a story…the atmosphere thought of in the author’s mind. It can make the story so much more magical if the setting is descriptive. Magical as the story just comes alive and we find ourselves being sucked in…

first thought? warmed. and I like that word much more. warned…what are you warning me off? Are you warning me not to do something? Is this something dangerous? Will I die doing this something? Or are you just trying to protect me? Don’t you know I have to live my life and make my own mistakes? Consider yourself warned.

this reminds me of an ethics class I took over the summer. morality – I believe it to be subjective and one must absolutely keep the idea of cultural relativism in their mind. what’s normal in the united states and considered perfectly moral may not be in other parts of the world

like the sinking feeling in your stomach? as in the one I currently have as finals week approaches next week and I’m definitely not getting an A in this vertebrate biology class and the whole purpose of taking this class to boost my GPA will then be moot? yeah, I’m familiar with that sensation.

…caught in headlights? I wonder if that’s how people feel when they first see the oneword.com prompt. Along with the, “oh hell, what the hell do I write feeling?” Do I write something witty? Thought provoking? …or do I just end up writing something like this?

it’s hard. you feel like if you don’t succeed, you’ll be a failure at life. but maybe success comes in different forms. and all you need to truly succeed is to be happy…to be able to smile at the end of the day
