Breaking news. Breaking glass. Breaking someone’s heart. Breaking a promise. Breaking a vow. Breaking your nose. Breaking someone else’s nose. Or arm. Or leg. Breaking into a million pieces. Breaking bad. Breaking, not braking. Breaking up. So many things we can break, don’t you think?

It’s not my style to take orders; never has been. Sure, I do when I HAVE to, but I prefer not to, and I’ve always tried to avoid them. I like working as a freelancer because I hate taking orders. I can take on a project, I can listen to the terms and scope, but I do NOT want my day dictated to the tee by someone else. I am confident that I can set orders for myself – there is no one that needs to do that for me, especially in a business environment. The word itself makes me shudder!

I find honor to be a concept I don’t access very easily, or very well – it seems like valor, a term used only for those that are worthy – perhaps military, exceptional police. I don’t find honor to be something that you verb on a regular basis, at least not in my life. It’s too powerful, too extraordinary.

She scanned the crowd and did not see him. He told her he would be near the bar at 10 PM. Not there, again. She couldn’t believe she trusted him this time, after he stood her up twice before. She swore she was done. She felt stupid. Tears stung her eyes and she turned and headed toward the door. There he was, right in front of her, noses almost touching.

I’ve never been on a jury, nor have I ever had jury duty. My husband was supposed to have to report to jury duty, right around our wedding anniversary last year, but when he called in in the morning as he was instructed, there was no need for him to come in. Neither of us have experienced it. I don’t think if I can recall that my parents have either. I know my grandmother was actually on a jury, but for a “small” case, only lasting a few days. Other than that, no one that I know of in my family has been on a jury in a large or substantial case.

A bad attitude filled with negativity can be corrosive, eating you from the inside out, causing you to dislike yourself and others, waiting for a moment when things are going to be better, when you’ll be somewhere else, with someone else — but really, the corrosion only ends when you choose to look inside yourself and decide that you are where you are and with who you are with for a reason, that negativity destroys you and you only, and that loving yourself is the only key to a good life and thus loving others.

Skater and surfer culture is big here in Florida. In high school, I was attracted to the skater crowd. I had a boyfriend Dan in high school that skated with his friends a lot, always had to have the latest shoes and skinny jeans, this was back in the mid 2000s.

Is there truly a nowhere, or is nowhere always somewhere to someone, or something? What makes it a nowhere? Whose decision is that? And how is that determined? What does it take to be or become nowhere? I am not sure if it exists. I am not sure if there is ever a nowhere, because it still exists. No means negative, or the absence of, and there is nowhere on Earth or even in the Universe that is truly nowhere.

I got a bad rash on my arms a couple of days ago. My arms were itching and the irritated bumps on my arms began to swell. It was on my arms only, so when I went to the doctor, and she asked me if I had done anything different lately, I told her I changed my detergent to these new pods, but then I stopped–wouldn’t it be on more of my body if it were the detergent? She agreed. We still don’t know what the contact dermatitis is from, but now I hypothesize that instead of detergent it is actually something that adhered itself to my laptop keyboard.

Stretching is important to your overall physical wellness program. Yoga is a great activity that combines stretching, strength, and cardio…I recommend it as the near-perfect physical activity. There are many types of routines and styles of yoga to keep you busy all year long. Stretch your mind’s current capacity with meditation, too.

I’m personally very proud to be American. Sure, every country has its negatives and faults, but we are very lucky in America, especially as women, to have the opportunity to attend college and make something of ourselves. A lot of people around the world do not get afforded the freedoms we have here, and I am thankful for that. I’m thankful for religious freedom and freedom of speech. And the ability to make a good life for myself. The American dream is to be able to live to our personal truth. And I’m happy to say that I can indeed do that.

When I hear this word I think of two different things: A remote control (which is sometimes called, in slang, a “controller”) and then, an air traffic controller. Both come to mind – both use technology; I think of hard metal and dark colors when this word comes to mind — again, technical, sleek.

Pandas are very cute animals. They are also a threatened species and this needs to be taken into great consideration, with great care. I also like red pandas. They are pretty darn cute, but don’t look the same as the Giant Panda. These creatures are found in Asia. The only place in the US that we can find pandas is the zoos. I believe the Washington DC Zoo might have the most sophisticated panda environment.

There are many different interpretations of what influence signifies. At this point in my life, entering my late 20s, I have discovered influence as something you must earn, and it’s largely from setting a good example, being kind, and being committed to your values. It is a positive thing, I don’t believe influence should be achieved by negative means. And is that even possible? That is a debate in itself. From a negative standpoint, is it more influence, or fear?

My grandfather, the one who is still living, is dear to me. He is the one who gave me auburn hair. He taught me a lot growing up, including a love for plants and gardening, for nature, simplicity, God; he taught me the importance of being quiet, of sitting back and letting other people talk. He taught me of peace, and of anger. I am a lot like him. Very similar personality. He has freckles like me. He’s a great guy and I’m so glad he is and has always been a part of my life.

I publicized a “mixer” type event a couple of weeks ago. I work at a marketing agency and much of my job is in the digital space. The mixer involved healthcare and technology; although I didn’t attend, the pictures and description of the event were very inviting. I like the concept of the “mixer”. Wine and robotic technology- very fun!

I get concerned about production–am I producing deliverables fast enough? Am I working quickly enough, achieving what I need to achieve at the right time? The right way? Are there even answers to those questions? Am I too anxious about perfection and achievement? Am I over-working myself or is this normal?

I must get through this. I don’t know how I will do it, or when all of the pain will go away, but I must keep pushing on through to see the light. There is no other choice. Nothing makes sense and that drives me crazy. But there’s nothing else I can do. Another reminder that I, as a human being, have no control. There is nothing I can see through by myself, especially looking into the future. Letting go is difficult. But there is no alternative.

I live in Florida and we have great places to camp and great camping weather most of the year. I used to love camping when I was a kid. We camped during school trips and on the weekends. I loved to camp in the backyard, too. I’m now a young woman in my mid-20’s and the last thing I want to do now is camp. I much rather be in a hotel. Last time I camped, which was about two years ago, it was damp, drizzling, and it was cold, gross, and I didn’t like having to use a flashlight to go to the bathroom.

wealth is different depending on the person. a lot of people define wealth as financial but some people see themselves as wealthy because of a family, enjoyment of a good hobby, or because they have deep relationships with friends. find your personal wealth, even if it’s not financial, and live it.

Minerals are a vital part of the Planet Earth. They come in all shapes and forms, are inside of our bodies, and are also a part of each human and animal creature. They can be beautiful, they are essential, and it is one of the elements of our planet that make it so awe-inspiring and unique.

Sometimes having a bland period in my life can be very healthy. I am always chasing achievement and excitement, trying to consistently, on a daily basis, achieve some kind of sparked, inspired success. Better to get comfortable with many days that are vanilla, days that don’t have much drama, just regular, good, simple days that teach us just as much. A bland day is not too bad. Kind of hope I have one today :)

My aura is likely purple, most of the time, but I think sometimes it changes to grey, maybe black. All of these colors have a part in my life. Purple is when I’m feeling normal, more like myself — the grey and black, not so much. These come in a state of depression or anxiety or anger — the uneasiness of my life. But kind of like a cloudy day, sometimes I enjoy these colors.

I want to radiate like the Sun. I want to sparkle each day, regardless of my circumstances, regardless of what’s going on around me. Radiate energy, purpose, but for myself, not for anyone else. I don’t want to live for anyone else exclusively. I’d argue that radiation comes from within.

In Florida, we experience the most beautiful sights of the horizon line known to man. I have seen sunsets in Miami Beach, Daytona Beach, Cocoa Beach, the beaches of Tampa and the West Coast, nearly every spot of Florida – even the keys. It is one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen — and you may even spot a whale or a dolphin while you’re at it, too.

Taking care of one’s self is essential. It is easy to get caught up in the daily grind of work, pleasing others, trying to make deadlines and commitments, but the true person we need to commit ourselves to is our self, first. If we do not do that, if we don’t take care of ourselves physically, mentally, or spiritually, we cannot assist anyone else. This is a big lesson I am learning. We need to stay true to ourselves first, at the cost of our health in all ways. Happy Monday, everyone! :)

The agenda sat on the President’s desk. He didn’t want to look at it. Not today. No more minutes, notes, bullet points. Time to leave. Get out of here and go to the beach. Some things are more important than an agenda — living life as it comes. This is not something he did very much lately, and it was killing him. Burning him out. Not the person he once was.

The water is metered at the front of our home. A couple of times in the past few months I’ve seen a guy kneeling down near the water meter right near our front door. I never really noticed the water meter was there in the first place. I always thought it was on the side of the house. The guy scared me the first time; I judged quickly, wondering what he was doing and why he was so close to my home. I have wondered a couple of times why they put the meter so close to my front door in such a strange place.
