How do you get pills out of a child proof bottle when your hands hurt?

My father was a very good mechanic. We lived next door to his garage and it was always filled with people talking about their cars and what needed to be fixed. My father would stand their, quietly listening to them, holding the wrench that seemed to always be in his hand, as they explained the noise the car made before it stopped running. Sometimes he would take the red shop rag out of his overalls back pocket, and mindlessly clean the wrench while listening to the customer. By the time the story was over the wrench would be gleaming, ready to go back on the wall until he needed it again.

When you enter a darkroom the possibilities are endless. How will those photos come out? How much solution? How long to expose it to the light? Even the mistakes can be a thing of beauty.

Calico print is pretty. Hand writing with pretty print is lovely to see. The print on the note was hard to read. It takes many people to print a newspaper. He left his foot print in the snow. The word print is used many ways. And always, but always…read the fine print before signing anything.

I feel like someone dropped me from a tall building, exhausted by the fear of the fall. Ready to land in a soft bed because I am so tired.

Basement, bargain prices…sweet words to a shoppers ear.

I live my life on a whim. Can’t take the constraints of planning. Can’t dedicate too much time to one thing. Want to feel free to pick up and go where ever the four winds blow me. I like it that way.

A good old fashioned Irish wake is a thing to behold. Such a celebration of life!!

» Posted By peaceable On 01.13.2011 @ 10:17 am

There is a divide between the 3rd and 4th dimension and I am caught in the wake between the two.

Blotches…well…my mirror lies to me sometimes, early in the morning, when I am not quite awake yet…venturing a glance in the mirror, hoping for the best but instead…seeing blotches where my once, young, shining face use to be looking back.

The water was taking her under, caught under the waterfall in the irrigation canal. Why did she jump in there, everyone knows this waterfall is dangerous. She had almost drowned once as a kid and here she was again, trapped under water for what seemed like ages. Water is a powerful machine, swirling you all around, right side up, up side down, each time more powerful than the next. The concrete wall of the irrigation ditch was all she had to grab on to. So sharp, full of ragged, rough stone edges, slicing through the palms of her hands. But the contact was all she needed to push off the wall, past the turbulance and into calmer waters. The slices on her hand would take weeks to heal but the memory would last forever.

He ragged on her, day and night.
She stayed with him, out of fright.
She got revenge, by growing wings.
He was left, disposing her things.

Life is way stranger than fiction. You just can’t make this shit up.

Don’t you just love a delicate turn of phrase? Whether it be spoken or the written word. We do not just tell stories as facts, writers weave words to paint pictures, just as an artist with a brush and paint does.

How do you define success? It is fleeting at best. Success can seduce even the most stable ego. Knocks you right off your feet if you let it. Then where are you? On the bottom rung again, looking up, ready to start the climb again.

I notice that you pay close attention to things around you. The sound of a child laughing, the cat scratching it’s claws on the trunk of a tree and the breeze that flows past you in the night. There isn’t much that happens that escapes you.

Take the long way home. Unwind your mind, see some new sites. There is no rule saying you must take the same route everyday…

» Posted By peaceable On 01.02.2011 @ 9:50 am

Life is nothing more than present time bubbles strung together to form a route to the end.

You realize how lucky you are when your true desire meets preparation.

I stood under a tree, at the alter of love, and said I do. And I meant it. Then, now and forever.

Paperclips remind me of working in an office, years before computers came along for daily use. So much paper work and so little time and space to organize it all, everyday. That is where the handy, dandy little paper clip came into play. So small, yet so helpful. They organized everything into neat, manageable piles. Today you see them laying around, not being used much, but in their day…paperclip was king!

There was a great song in a movie with Fay Dunaway. The song was sung in the 40’s style and I’ll never forget these lyrics. “I was born to reject, rejection”. That says it all really.

Tell me about rejection! Isn’t that the worst feeling? Makes you wonder why you would trust anyone with your feelings again. Some people just can’t be trusted.

I don’t think I have a case of over optimism. I do like to keep the door open for marvelous outcomes because if you shut the door on hope then you have little chance of receiving life’s gifts.

I do not like the word boa. Reminds me of a snake. Boa feathers are fun but I don’t wear them. In high school there was a rich Asian girl by the name of Bo A Lau. She might have been the most shallow person I have ever met.

I LOVE clean sheets! Every two days they are changed and that becomes “Yahoo, clean sheet day!”. Either cool, crisp summer sheets or warm, fuzzy flannels depending on the weather. Clean sheets make for the best night sleep.

Good word for the day. The more I become enlightened, the more I am unable to hold my temper. Strange side affect. Just can’t abide by the BS anymore. Must learn to hold my tongue and walk away. I guess that is the act of grace.

The possibility of achieving what ever you desire depends on how deeply you believe you can achieve your dream. No hedging, no little voice telling you it won’t happen. Just full force belief in yourself and the goodness of those around you who can help you make it happen. Believe in yourself!

Life seems like one, immense hill to climb. You can find a soft spot and rest for a minute but then you must get up and keep climbing.
