Some people believe Olive oil is the best cooking oil to use. I agree that it is one of the best, but it is not THE best oil. Let me tell you why. Olive oil doesn’t do well in high heat. It starts to go rancid. Since I don’t know what high heat means, I prefer to avoid it, unless I am using it in hummus. The best oil for high flame/heat is coconut oil. Sunflower oil does well too! In my opinion Olive oil should be used with extreme caution and low low heat/flame.

We all have a role to play. My role has always been to be the black sheep of the family. Anytime something went wrong in the family, I got blamed for it. My brother’s role was to be golden child. He did nothing wrong–ever. In fact, if my brother is mad at me, everyone is mad at me. No one speaks to me. It’s sad really. i turn 50 this year. My new role: freedom.

Well, now here is a word i hear so much about. The power of protein. A high protein diet is supposed to be the best for you. All those carbs load you down and make you sleepy and cause you to crave even more sugar. Also, carbs turn into sugar. It’s what diabetics are supposed to avoid: carbs. So yep. Let’s all have more protein please. Steaks—coming right up! haha

I live in the Mojave Desert. It gets HOT out here. Maybe not Phoenix hot *haha* but sure gets scorchin’ out here. Today we are going to reach 112 degrees. Now that’s extreme climate, folks. But I like it here. I was born in the desert, moved away to experience humidity, and returned ASAP.

I knew a guy who robbed a bank. He got put in prison. When he came out he was a pretty bitter man. He didn’t like certain types of people. I actually tried dating him for a while. He just wasn’t someone I could hang with. Too much hate in his heart. But he was a pretty good auto body man. He was good at his job.

Well, it does appear that we got the same word yesterday. It’s a little annoying when that happens. Usually, I just log off, but today I will continue to write because it’s all about the exercise, right? I will be graceful about the entire repetition. Have a beautiful day, beautiful people.

Sometimes life calls for us to act outside of ourselves. There are times when we need to handle difficult situations with gracefulness. It isn’t easy…well, it isn’t “always” easy to be graceful. When someone does something to hurt us…we need to not be reactive. At least we should strive to not be reactive. It is best to walk in grace—to be graceful.

I have only held a snowball a few times in my life. The desert is my abode. But it does snow at times, even here. And we do get to ball up that white stuff. It’s fun to thing of it. Throwing a snowball at someone. Or building a snowman with all them balls. It’s all about having fun; and sometimes, that involves a snowball or two, or three, or four…

Long sleeves are mighty important when you live in the Mojave Desert. The sun can be beautifully brutal. if you don’t belong in the desert it will suck you dry and spit straight out. it’s the way of life around here. So put on your wide brimmed hat, grab your water bottle, and whatever you do, don’t roll up those sleeves. Your’e gonna need them out here.

I think of going to the grocery store in Minnesota when I was a little kid. The name of the market was Piggly Wiggly. I think that’s right–If memory serves me. I used to get such a kick out of that name. The Piggly Wiggly. haha Sounds way more fun than going to Smith’s. ;)

First thing that came to mind was the Twin Towers, but now, I won’t go there. Let’s think about something else, shall we? Well, in the tarot deck being tossed out of the Tower means destruction of what has been. An entire new phase of life is in store for you. There will be no place to hide–exposure. So if you add another tower, as in towers? What does that mean? It means double trouble for you, Cookie.

That is a scary word. Cult. Well, a cult is when you are in a group and you are unable to fully function with your own faculties. You must answer to them and do as they say. My family feels like a cult. I must adhere to the rules established by the leader, and if i choose to not do so, I will experience the onslaught of her wrath. She will turn everyone against me. Yep, I am 50 years old, and am in the cult established by my own mother. My thoughts mean nothing. Cult.

I am in the current process of transfomation
The transformation has been coming on for a few years now
but now is the time to transform
i am no longer the old person i used to be
i have let it all go
that life of the person that dreads
i have gotten rid of all that causes me to shrivel
i am alive. i have been transformed.

The dilemma I have gotten myself into isn’t really much of a dilemma now that I have chosen to accept it. There is no other way to continue on in the relationship; it’s gotta go. The time has come to see it for what it is. Actually, the true dilemma was in not recognizing how sick and rancid the relationship was for my soul. I have now recognized it, let it go–and glory be, i am dilemma free.

The word domestic conjures up images of women who have been “trained” to be obedient. Women who are experts are housekeeping and cooking. They know how to iron and fold the sheets expertly. I have never been accused of being a domestic woman. I do keep a clean enough home. But I don’t think it’d suffice for a president or first lady. They’d probably prefer to stay at a hotel.

I am part of hiking group here in town. We had a hike planned and one of the gentlemen in the group, that none of us had met, asked for a ride to the trail head. Apparently, he does not own a car, but he does own a scooter. Seems like there are many people in this town that don’t own a car, but they do own a scooter!

My husband tried to teach me how to use chopsticks once. He holds them differently though, and he did tell me so. I couldn’t quite get the hang of it. But one day, I was lucky enough to sit next to a Chinese woman at a sushi restaurant. She taught me how to hold them. I now use them every time we go to a Chinese restaurant. Not really, but wouldn’t that have been nice?

So what’s the difference between syrup and molasses? I went on this crazy diet once. It was molasses, lemon, and cayenne. You’ve probably heard about it. It’s supposed to cleanse. But I don’t think that was “syrup”. Syrup is very sweet. I love it with my pancakes with lots of butter.

The elm tree is a lovely one indeed. However, when it comes to spring time; what comes along with that lovely tree? Why, box elder beetles, of course! The black and orange lovelies will mate all over the place. Be prepared for them to take over your house. Even on the kitchen table they mate. So yes, yes, love that elm, but know that love bugs come with it.

Some people are able to bend spoons. I have always wanted to try it. But one must yell at the spoon, and i would feel rather silly yelling at a spoon, So i won’t attempt it. Instead, I will choose to use a spoon as it was meant to be used. I will use a spoon to remove hickies. if you freeze your spoon and rub it on your hicky, it will help make it go away faster. Try it, it works. ;)

Sometimes the signal comes in ways we could not imagine. It’s a “sign”. If you pay very close attention to your surroundings, the Universe will speak to you. Universe/God/angels, whatever you choose to call “it”. I am very aware of them now. Sometimes it can something you hear. If you hear it three times. Well, there you go. It’s your signal to pay attention.

To me, a wonderland must include nature. Ever since I was a little kid…nature had to be a part of it. I never liked theme parks. Disney land, etc. I live in Nevada. This is a wonderland! The mountains, the cactus, the sunsets, sunrises…wild horse…wild burrows…the coyotes…and our “freedom” quail…

Well, as much as I hate to admit it, Hamburgers are one of my favorite foods. haha But I like them with jalapeno, mayonnaise, and extra pickles. And sometimes I like onions in them too. But I try to not eat too many of them. It’s all that bread that’s the problem. I had a burger last night! ;)

Accusations are not things that come up for no reason. Sometimes there are good reasons for it, other times no. They are usually based on fear…or anger…but anger stems from fear, does it not? I was once accused of stealing something I did not. it hurt my feelings terribly..that it’s what my friend thought of me. that i could do something like that. and what hurt more…

I once had a co-worker who thought I stole her purse. She realized it was stolen and we all went on a hunt for it. We worked at the library. And I saw some suspicious looking guys. I followed them and saw they placed the purse into some book stacks. I saw the purse and I grabbed it and returned it to her. She told me I could have it. I knew then she thought I stole it.

Here we go again. We just had this word yesterday. In Pahrump, Nevada people have wild animals as pets. One can own a lion, a zebra, a wolf…whatever. You can have Tigers living in your backyard. People who own them say they are tame. But, are they? I would not want to live next door to a “tame” bear.

» Posted By Mistress Quickly On 08.08.2015 @ 11:46 am

There is much to be said about the tame. The ones who are easy to control. The ones who do not know they have a voice of their own; and if they do know, they are too afraid to use it. They are the ones you want under your control. They will not fight, They will not resist. I used to be one of those. One of the tame ones. Not anymore.

Sometimes we all have to do something in spite of our fear. I call that bravery. One has to be brave to just do what comes next. To act even when we are afraid is to be brave. But oftentimes, when we are in the midst of it, we don’t even notice our own bravery. But afterwards, we see it. And how cool is that?

Sometimes illusions can be fun. Ever been to Las Vegas to see any of the great illusionists? They appear to float up into the sky, like heavenly assisted angels. I am always amazed at the way they can trick the mind, the brain. It is only an illusion.

Sometimes the worse things can happen in the most uneventful day. My next door neighbor was at home making potato and egg tacos when she learned her brother passed away. From non-eventful to eventful, I suppose. Do you ever wonder about that? When you wake up anything can happen.
