instant

Instant makes me think of our society today. Every one in this world is looking for instant gratification. Very few people in this world know the true meaning of patience.

the popularity of yoga is sort of alarming. it’s interesting i was given this word as prompt as i was just telling myself i need to step aside from frantically tapping my keyboard n practice some mindfulness, and i guess i see those two things as both being part of self improvement. interplanet janet shes a galaxy girlfdghdfh

market

Once upon a time there was a little girl who went to the market. She was looking for some fruit but only found meat and bread, It was winter and fruit was hard to find in the middle of cold season. She continued down the road and found a family who had a small amount of grapes.

rattle

It rattled, deep inside me, the breath. I was sure I was dying. My Mom laughed when I told her. It is JUST a cold. I’m sure you’ll be fine. But I wasn’t fine. Were you fine? I felt ceaseless and uncertain and also abruptly ending.

marker

When I see “marker,” I think of a place holder of some sort–like a marker on the side of the road that tells you how far you’ve gone. Right now, I think I’m searching for a marker of some sort because I feel totally lost. I have no idea where the road is leading.

globe

Bet you thought I was going to write about the Golden Globe awards didn’t you?
Well you’re correct.
Whoever that dude was that made the joke about j-lo’s boobs: you said what we were all thinking. To those that deemed it “in bad taste”: was the dress itself not more inappropriate than the obvious joke?

rented

She stared out the window and thought of the changes that would occur tomorrow. This life would never be the same. For the first time ever, she realized she wouldn’t be staying in a temporary place, she will have established some sense of permanency. If only she knew or could have anticipated the age old reality-change is the only permanent.

why are these words so boring? I can’t think of anything beautiful about the word radius, and honestly why is there a picture of a boob in my head?! I want a new word :(

desolation

I’m not even sure what it means, I should definitely invest in a thesaurus…. if it’s even remotely close to what I think it means, it explains my adolescence perfectly…..

I miss Nate Tweedy :(

compensate

It told me not to think, and here I am, thinking instead of writing. “Compensate” does not inspire me. I feel that I do not connect with this word in any way at all.

standing

How long will I stay here?
I’ve been in the same place for a while now.
The horizon looks so tempting, though.
What’s holding me back.

There’s love behind me too.
It’s a pretty pink,
do I want to leave?

It wont hurt to stay a little longer.

commissioned

I was set to follow the metal road since day one.
First off, let’s head to school, okay?
Alright, that’s fair.
I won’t hold your hand though, so have fun dealing with all the emotional baggage that comes with everything school entails: the people, the work, and the overbearing flaws of yourself.

aperture

i have no idea what this word means.
if I could make up a meaning, it would mean
something beautiful
like a peach tree
down south
in the sun.
I hope it is not an ugly word.

routine

She was a cleaner. It was a simple routine task. Go in. Clean up the mess left behind in their wake, and get out. Same as always. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case this time. The team before her didn’t do their job like they were supposed to: they left someone alive.

joyous

Simone makes me feel a joy I never knew I had. her laugh, as she tilts her head to the sky, like laughing at it is the most infectious joyous thing I have ever known. then she looks at you and smiles. the little crinkles that form in the corners of her eye ,let my heart.

magenta

It was much brighter on the wall than it had been in the paint can. And if she was being honest, it was too garish, and a mistake. But that’s what Peter had said even before it was on the wall, and she wasn’t going to let him know that he had been right. It should’ve been easy to just admit that she was wrong, but she’d been married to him for too long to give up on something that was sure to haunt her for years to come.

cities

The lights of this city are probably more beautiful that that of any of the cities I’ve visited in my short life. I could sit out in this ledge for hours and stare. With a boy, a girl, or just a good book.

systems

Computer systems can be confusing but with the modern world we need them to survive. How is it that this world we know has become so controlling that we can’t merely leave the house without some of this technology. Cell phones, iPods, and even books can’t just be simple now; face it, humans are weak and we must accept that.

The musical is fun but torturous. She screams, she yells; nothing is right. She tries to make us cry. Somebody please tell her it’s high school, not Broadway.

real

The most real thing in life is corruption. There is corruption in the government, the schools, and life in general. I’m afraid to trust in anyone right now. Someone, though I barely know him, I will always trust him; he is touchable, he is real.

five

five: the fingers on your hands. Mine are bent out of shape from years of volleyball. You don’t really think about how necessary the five are until one is taped up or put in a cast. Suddenly the simplest tasks become difficult. Writing is painful, impossible, and near illegible.

due

When an essay is due, there is always the same process. First a languid disconcern for the approaching dead line, then a sudden panic, a 50 meter dash to the library. If you’re lucky, you’ll get in the writing zone, the perfect mixture between panic and laziness that leads to optimal productivity.

spent

It was all gone. He looked down at his grubby hands, grime stuck in the cracks of his palm. His money was spent. He looked down at his tattered tunic and his bare feet coated in dirt. His clothing were spent. Falling to his knees, he wept. His soul was spent.
