Positive. Glass half full. Assets. I felt a warm feeling when I saw the word “features”. Made me think of the good things a person has to offer and what defines them.

Friends and family. I would hope to put them under a different verb, but for for the moment, being so far away from home, my time with them is relocated to a short visit.

If I was given the choice to only keep one thing in this life… It would be quite simple, with little to no debate at all. A promise.

door knobs are very interesting. faries live in door knobs for all the time you are losing your baby teeth. have you ever thought about how they easily got under your pilow? every time I ssee a door knob I think of faries which mkaes me think of when I lost my teeth which makes me think about when I ate a hot dog and lost a tooth. which also makes me remember that I need to make an appointment to get my wisdom teeth removed.

It started as an idle chat, a mere exchanging of jokes with the occasional glance. You welcomed me over one day to converse in a slightly more intimate way, discussing with me actual events. So, I enjoyed your company and slowly sought more. . . Chat after chat, day after day turned into a conversation of our hearts; each word revealed something about the other.

She directed her focus upward, preferring to ignore what was below. Twinkling in the expanse above, millions of luminous lanterns flickered, offering her thoughts a safe harbor to dock. She often pondered existence; the sheer evanescence of life never ceased to baffle her. We live, we eat, and we die. Eighty years is a split-second compared to the longevity of the soil she stands upon. Much to her astonish, she caught glimpse of a swan soaring across a tranquil lake on the horizon. Its ivory wings reflected the moon’s light, casting an angelic glow on the placid waters beneath it.
“I wonder. . .why is it flying?”

He shaded his emotions from the world, placing sunglasses over his soul. No light could enter or escape, casting shadows across his existence.

The pastry looked enticing to her. . .with its frothy icing spilling over the edges of the fine cut dough. I’ll try a little, she decided. Hardly anyone will notice. She leaned forward ever so carefully until the sweet frosting graced her tongue. Her taste buds, elated, pleaded for just one more careful lick.

The incessant chatter of Janice only caused Julie to become irate.
“Only 2 more hours of this,” Julie murmured under her breath. “Maybe she’ll fall asleep soon or grow tired of talking.”
Suddenly, the dinky wagon struck a pot hole, adding to the prattle an irritable rattle.

She glanced at the blood-red apple lying in the palm of her hand. Sinking her teeth into its bitter flesh, burning thoughts consumed her judgment. How easy it is devour this apple, yet not the will of her enemies. Bitten by resentment, she tossed the half eaten core to the ground, leaving it to rot.

I was running through my driveway during that summer shower- my tiny yellow rain boots plopping through the puddles. Only a single thought crossed mind that day: Don’t let the rain stop!

“Haha let me go!” I laugh as we wrestle on the floor. He pins me down in the gentlest of ways, a sweet smile crosses his lips. I hear him whisper as his lips touch mine, “Oh yeah? Make me.”

Heartache…such a depressingly dull topic I would rather not delve into. Because what is the point to mull over heartache when I could be speaking of Heartmake- the things that make love exist in the first place?

The branches brush against my window on a stormy night…but not in the scary sense most imagine. It is in a gentle, soothing way as if to say “I am here”.

Splash. One instant alters the course of your destiny. . . sending ripples out in all directions. Everyone feels- friends, family, acquaintances. It could be on a whim, you know. You may find yourself waking up, viewing the world through glasses with slightly different tint. You used to seek meaning- a cause worth dying for. You prayed that years of pent up hate boiling underneath the surface will one day fizzle into oblivion. It is painful to remember; only time will tell if the infant, double edged memories will fade. But these new glasses. . .they refract the light in a new manner. So grab your gun soldier, because nobody can stand in your path.

The boy looked at the immense obstacles before him. Could he possibly lift it with a broken leg? He had to try if he wanted to survive.

This chair used to be comfortable, I thought. Now it seems like in the time I first thought of it up until now something has changed, as if only the chair is in flux. I tried to pull my butt up but the chair is just as hard and weird as it was before.

I love to play on playgrounds. As a child, I used to love the swings. Flying high up in the air was thrilling and tons of fun! I should do this more as an adult!

sinking sinking sinking like quicksand that turns into mud that turns into water
sinking into a silly, run-on sentence
sinking into fucking oblivion
sinking into new things happening
sinking into the floor
skinking slinking blinking thinking
i am a horrible, horrible poet
sinking into being overly apologetic again
sinking into feeling ok with how things are going

I felt the anger overcome me, seeing Jamie with Ted. They were kissing behind the school and I was immediately wracked with jealousy, wanting to go into a rampage and hurt possibly everyone knew me. It burned my veins, messed up my head, and I wasn’t myself. I approached the laughing pair and ripped Jamie away from TEd, demanding to know what was going on. Are you cheating on me? I asked. They denied anything was happening, but I had seen everything.

The thing that’s always intrigued him about her is the way she commands a room, as if she can walk in and somehow take control. She, more than anyone he has ever known, has a clarity of purpose that makes him want nothing more than to get close to her, to know her.

She stands up in front of the room, steadying her shaking hands on the lectern. She wasn’t made for this, she thinks, as she begins to read. Press conferences and announcements aren’t her style.

i like typing down my thoughts. what a beautiful mix of ink and poetry, what a way of expressing the ,most inner beauty and traumas of ones soul. it is like a paint brush with words. beautiful. historic. i want a type writer. i could write many stories about people far and near, maybe not so different from me. It is a passage to another world and all its intensity.

carve your name into my skin, for everyone to see. Feel the pain, know the love, and bleed. I need you so badly, you don’t understand. I don’t feel anything when its not your hand in my hand.

I recall a face near mine, breath on my face.
I recall hands sliding down my sides, into regions that were NOT to be touched.
I recall…panic, fear, confusion.
Funny how there were multiple instances, but I only recall one.

I can’t feel my arm, but I think it’s ok. I can hear grandma somewhere behind me, so I think it’s ok. I can’t see anything because of the bandage over my eyes, but I think it’s ok. The car crash was really loud, but I think it’s ok. My left side is wet and warm, but I think it’s ok.
“I’m sorry, you’ve lost your arm.”
But I think it’s ok.
