I am contained in my emotions. They are over-taking everything. I miss the kids. I miss my Mom. I miss being a kid, myself. Life is so hard.

A pumpkin spice latte was every white woman’s drink this fall. She’d pull on her Hunter boots and Patagonia jacket (or Ugg boots and Northface jacket), and immediately go to Starbucks to get her pumpkin spice fix.

I can’t remember what augment means, but want to see others’ responses to this free writing exercise.

“Gifted” was a word the public schools used to sell their accelerated academic programs. “This is a gifted class,” they’d say, “the workload is twice that of the ‘normal’ classes. It’s an honor to be invited to take gifted classes”. The students would later groan and discreetly roll their eyes at the word “gifted”.

They said she was gifted. They were the teachers, the school counselors, her parents: the adults in her life. She was set up to create unrealistic expectations for herself and all those in her life. She was gifted, but she was also cursed.

Clear as the foggy day, she found herself. She was as foggy as an oldtimer with alzheimers. Trapped in a post-traumatic cycle of disturbing memories of the past, unable to break away and see the world clearly. She was a headcase of the best variety: loving, caring, and compassionate, yet troubled nonetheless.

Her mind was not clear, nor had it ever been. It was in chaos, one thought clashing against the next. She couldn’t make up her mind, she couldn’t see her next steps as her mind was trapped in a collision of past problems and present difficulties. She was working on it, but she was all alone. It was hard.

“Princeling over a chasm? Somebody hates us,” Law said, eyeing the young man dangling from a narrow tree growing out over the massive expanse of emptiness.
“Please, help! I’m slipping!”
With a sound something like “tch”, Law unshouldered her pack and threw it at Bastion, breaking into a full-out sprint.
“Let go,” Bastion advised the young man, pretending not to smile. “It’ll hurt less.”
“WHAT? I’M GOING TO FALL, WHY WOULD I LET GO??”
“It’ll save your arms — oh, never mind.”
Law leapt the chasm, colliding bodily with the youth midway and sweeping him into her ambitious amount of speed; they tumbled to rest on the other side with a groan that belonged entirely to the princeling.

She was holding it, afraid that it’d disappear just like everyone else she had tried holding on to. Her grip grew tighter as the balloon seemed to float further and further away from her.

The director was very arrogant. His cockiness oozed from every pore and they reeked with it. His self-worth far out compassed its true value. But he made “the big bucks” so all must bow before him.

i conjured up a thought, it was a stupid one, nothing of importance. i wrapped my head around it as I thought about it. it was not love it wasnt even some pretentious thing i usually have in my head. it was just a thought about nothing and everything, about something and nothing.

I’ve already written about people, but I can always give it another go. Why do people hurt other people? We are all people.

i hate people they suck the always seem to do the dumbest things. and they always seem to do it in a manner that will really piss me off. I just don’t understand some people’s logic sometimes, probably because they have no common sense but they think they do so how much sense does that make at all I’m supposed to write about people not sense, what am i thinking?

There was a chat room open on her desktop…who was she talking to? was it really that important. I wanted her to see this one thing, but she had been busy doing this, and now, she was gone. Forever.

it’s an old lady word. When I hear dull I think of a victorian old maid or widow socialite, covered in lace and wondering why everyone in the room is just so bloody boring. She, on the other hand, is not dull, supposedly. In her mind, she is the one interesting thing in this life and must be forced to use the word dull in order to condemn her surroundings. Dull people never use the word dull, for fear of self recognition.

I missed the train today. It was raining and my umbrella broke. I could tell that today was not going to be my day.
Since I missed the train I got to work late meaning I missed the staff meeting and got in trouble from my supervisor and missed the donut bribes as well.

Occasionally I wish I had wings, but if I had them I wouldn’t know where to go. And wouldn’t they be uncomfortable? I couldn’t lay on my back. Maybe not even my sides. But hey, I could fly.

Maroon is a beautiful colour, some mistake it as red and others may mistake it as brown. Maroon is also a band, a good band, that I used to listen to when I was younger. Maroon sounds like baboon, and cocoon, and cocoon’s are very pretty. Swoon doesn’t really rhyme with it, but, swoon is a really beautiful word. Prune also kinda goes with it. Maroon spelled backwards is nooram, sounds like a unique kind of name. time’s up.

Curiosity gets the better of her, and she sets her shoulder to the double doors and pushes with all her might. They open onto a field of summer flowers and sunshine, blue skies and warm green grass, and all she can do is wonder how something like this is possible in the dead of winter in a house older than her grandfather.

He sits in the window seat and stares out at the green countryside and the impossibly blue sky above it. The train shudders and clacks beneath him, thundering along the track, carrying him away to the next dot on his marked-in-red-pen map, but he barely notices the noise; his thoughts are on the clouds.

rise? rise in the morning. Loaves rise. Yeast is bloody terrifying. It breathes. You warm it up, and it starts eating and growing. Then you fight it, and it pushes back. Then you kill it with fire, and it’s okay.
My cakes don’t rise. Lacking of baking powder? I could try using more, but I kind of like the gooey brownie effect.

The man with the side burns concerned me by the way he posed. He looked like he had experienced everything in life and he hadn’t even aged to 30. Me, only inching into my twenties, he frightened me because his interest was on me. I could only see the smirk on his face but it gradually pulled me in. It shouldn’t be like this but it ended up to be more then it possible could be. This is how it started.

she sat there, in tears, realizing all her fears were present. she had been left, not even left though, she had been forgotten. all her past was gone, all the lives she had crossed never made a difference. and now, as she sits, she cannot forget how she used to love, learn, live, and how she thought they could not forget either.

Puzzles, puzzling, puzzler. The puzzle maker sits at his desk piecing puzzles in his professional puzzler way. And away he goes down into the world of jig and saws down into the world away from ours. He looks around not understanding. He sees the dead he sees the living and he sees the people who are neither and both and suddenly he is puzzled no more. Everything fits every piece is in place and the puzzle is complete.

Iron hearted and coal for a soul we live in the place of dreams. We face off and turn in and run away. No one sees and no one hears because we are alone in this world. And in the end when its time to fly all we can do is fall

Knowing what you want and refusing to give up until you get it. Wanting something that you are passionate about and driving yourself towards that until it is achieved. I am determined to be the best person I can possibly be, right now, and forever. Without determination, we are nothing.

My knee has had problems since 5th grade. I’ve been dealing with it for 6 years and I know it will never get better. I’ve come to accept this, and now I feel as if I had reached a new milestone in my life. I have modified activities to make sure my knee is okay. I have tried new sports as well as maintaining old sports.
