Anxiety caresses me with a sticky tentacle.
“How does that feel now, love, eh? You happy?”, the voice oddly familiar. “You true?”
That quote from fahrenheit451 edges itself into my mind and I’m ready to cry out only in part with irony “Am I what?”, as I recognize the timbre. I’ve heard others describe anxiety as an unwanted best friend, but I’d never believed it would take the form of the ones I deemed closest. And then, which was it – who impersonated whom?

my walk has changed
from a sudden halt to shy stumble to a leap
the faith of my own declaration

On the sleeve of her shirt was her heart, a small heart, one she barely wore there, but today she felt like expressing house she actually felt, she would leave it there, making her happy or sad. But when she got to her friends house she pulled on the sleeve, trying to remove her idea of where her heart should lie. Hear rose through her, she rolled up her sleeve and placed a fake smile upon her face.

Fishing? You want to ask me about fishing! Well bring up the armchair and settle in because do I have stories for you.
Of course you know that I fished on the Copper River flats in my own bowpicker — built in the 1970s as a high school project by a couple of kids that went on to become Seattle boat makers. You know I was a setnetter. And worked as a fish observer in the Gulf of Alaska, Bering Sea. Pollock, crab, skate, cod. Saw the Pribs, False Pass, Unalaska/Dutch — the whole South Bering Sea Islands. Wish I’d bought a pair of those sweatpants now.
Crabbers were the best — cleanest fishery I ever saw, next to salmon. You either pull up a pile of male crabs or a pile of females, and you can dump the females all out at once, right out of the pot into the ocean before they ever come aboard. Couldn’t take the groundfish — ought to close them all down, dirty fishery, bycatch all the time, holds filled with bycatch sometimes. Had to leave that.
Not much use for weekend fishers. Those pictures, all lined up arm to arm — it’s not right. They’ve messed up their own cricks, and their they are, most of them on someone else’s territory — Ahtna Athabascan, Dena’ina. Ought to leave the rivers to those that live there and take care of them.
Miss the old skiff. Miss summers in the setnet cabin. Don’t miss hanging upside down in the bilge desperately trying to fix something, get the engine started, slopping in the trough. Ups and downs, ups and downs.

dating is a tough thing to do. for one thing you never want to hurt someones feeling and another thing is you dont want to get too attatched right away. sometimes I dont even like to go dating, its a lot of work. but who knows? maybe one day you’ll meet the one… you might even meet the definitely wrong one and they’ll lead you in the direction of the right one

“Head east” he said, with the faintest hint of a smile. “Perhaps, if you’re lucky, you’ll seek what you’ve set out to find.” His green eyes twinkled in the moonlight, two more stars among the endless skies.

When the window shattered, nobody heard it. They weren’t around. This was strange, for surely something had to have shattered the window – windows don’t just do that on their own. But maybe this was a special window. Maybe this was one that wanted to be heard. It probably had had something to say for quite a while but because it was, well, a window, it had no means of saying it.

I love chocolate wafers. They’re crispy, delicious, treats that everyone should have love as well. My brother doesn’t like them.

sentenced to jail for the rest of ones life could be one of the most upsetting things to ever happen to a human. why would you ever want to be sentenced to penalty or jail? it would be a life of loneliness and filled with regret. it would be a sad sentenced life.

You placed your hand in mine.
“You’re ready?” You asked me. I nodded (well, what else I could do?).
And we jumped.

She made her entrance, sweeping, as always. Descending the stairs, all eyes in the ballroom were on her. Her eyes sparkling, her hair a shimmering red, as if on fire.

It is one thing to inhabit a country. It is something else entirely to civilize it. It takes gratitude and culture to civilize. Merely bodies to inhabit. Though those videos are capable of learning. They are able to teach and pass on that with they have gained to future generations. This would be the beginning of civilization.

Blindness is a physical condition in which one loses their sight. But strangely enough their other senses are heightened.
But blindness is a metaphorical manner can refer to ignorance… intentional or not.
To be blind means to be free of sense, which is both a curse and a blessing. It is one more thing that you are not being held down by in the temporal world, allowing you to explore other areas of your life without fear, yet it means that you are also limited in others.

Half means only one of them. A whole means I have both. Whole heart. I think that applies to a lot in life. I think I’m living half-heartedly a lot of the time. My twin boys help pull me together. It’s just the part of me that’s not ‘mom’ I have to figure out.

Staw dogs are the things that are simply created to be destroyed. I really like the something Corporate song called “Straw Dog” but I also like the JAck’s Mannequin song called Last Straw. I liked bendy straws when I was a little kid. I used to connct them all together and make a super mega straw.

Ah, he wears a blue cap. That’s what he used from disguising himself as one of the students. He took another student’s exam for money. Oh well.

If he had to, he would, but from the get go he wouldn’t bother. It was kind of a hassle: Nero did feel the need for these jackasses to learn who was holding the reins here, who really kicked everyone’s ass. If it involved for the Knights to get their ass handed in a silver platter until it was his turn to draw the shots [in more ways than one], he would.

Never expect to get advice that will benefit you at that moment, sometimes its better to just listen and accept that one day the words that were shared will leave a lasting impact in your life even without you knowing it

It was just like a game of tennis, but instead of a ball, we were rallying words. Yours, then mine, then back to you. I’d miss a point you try to make, but you would also miss mine. It was never-ending and I no longer knew what we were doing. I didn’t understand it much. Just like tennis.

I remember once I guilted a boy in class to trade me his holographic Charizard card for a few meaningless pokemon cards. I didn’t feel bad until I saw him crying later in the hallway. I traded him his Charizard back.

it floats above my left shoulder. whispers ideas in my ear. it floats to my right and convinces me of wrongs. it hovers. just out of reach, but within earshot.

Distinguished as he may be in his field of expertise, when he entered that room only to be greeted by her face from the other end of the hall, all the glory and fame he collected in his life went out the window. He was just another bloke, abashed out of his wits in front of the girl he wanted so desperately to marry.
