The call came in just as she was to attend what perhaps would be one of the most important meetings of her life. As the others all gathered around the table, she realized she had to dash out of there without a good excuse

My mom left my dad when I was three years old. She was very brave as she took my brothers and me back to New Jersey where she was born. It was not easy for her but she managed to raise us all on her own. She taught me how to be brave and independent.

I placed the child in the crib next to the window, gazing out to the beach and watching the loneliness of people stroll along the beach. I wondered if they were alone as I felt today.

The cone was empty and I thought of the addition of another scoop of ice cream. That would be the best way to end this dinner. I had thought of other desserts but the idea of ice cream was tempting.

I like to tumble only in space
For there I can tumble with flair and grace
If I tumble on land it causes me pain
And I won’t want to tumble in the rain.

r’s mouth gaped as he set down his duffel. “this is the gym?” enjolras shook out his hair, grinning, “did you think i meant the one down the street, bahorel’s? no. this is the gym.” grantaire turned his head, taking in the scene. “i didn’t see you as the… gymnastics type” he gestured to the room around them, half filled with young girls in sparkling leotards. Enjolras rolled his eyes– “please, it’s not gymnastics. it’s tumbling,” before beginning a routine. and maybe he threw a couple extra flips in, if only for the look on grantaire’s face.

the two clutched at each other, not-quite stumbling to bed. it’s not like they’d had a lot to drink, of course, they’d been performing, but it had been enough to make everything funny. the alcohol mixed with the after-concert high to create and intoxicating picture of youth.

Gluten Free Erica. She’s the best. Funny Saritical but most of all clever. Met her one day at a coffee shop. Her clarity from across the room was beaming. Her face shone and twitched at something she found distasteful. She lives on her sleeves open and willing. Everyone else around her not so much. Sillica they call it I believe.

That guy sure was a weakling. He bragged every day about his running skills. He couldn’t even make ten minutes on the treadmill. I passed him by fifteen minutes.

I was completely stalled in my life. My car was stalled, my blender stopped blending, my toaster … oh I guess toasters don’t exactly stall, but I like toast so much and that wasn’t working, either.
But I had to do something, with no toast and no car I was up a creek without a piece of bread, so to speak.

I used to think of my heart as a battered thing. Worn by misuse and abuse. I was wrong. I sheltered my heart so effectively that it was still in it’s original plastic, still shines unscratched like a gemstone. He has been through heartbreak and pain and still he smiles and loves and forgives like nothing. A heart weathered and worn soft. I took a sledgehammer to my proud, stony heart the day I fell in love.

I got so fatigued after working out. I spent 2 hours in the gym today. Maybe tomorrow I need to take the day off and rest my bones. I think I will.

He placed the plate on the table in front of her.
Tacos? she said. They’ll crumble and spill all over my dress.
Why’d you wear white? he said.
Men, she thought. They don’t understand anything.

procedures are just things that people have to follow because really we’re all just little gremlins following the procedures of life just like hamsters in their wheels running and running
we should not go by procedure sometimes

A cat on a hot tin roof burned the pads of his feet. They blend on the roof, and he made sloppy blood spots all over the roof, window sills and everywhere he stepped.

vegetables right now are fresh….i love them better than store bought, as long as they are growing in the field, there are so many to be harvested right now, it’s such a bounty of goodness, no wonder thanksgiving comes at this time of year to give to us all of the labor and efforts from the hardworking farmers to create such a beautiful array of freshness.

The twin towers fell September 11 2001. That was 11 years ago it was a terrifying thing that changed america forever. Two planes purposely crashed into the twin towers which eventually ended in them collapsing and thousands of innocent people losing their lives. Its crazy to think this was 11 years ago. I was only 5 years old but i remember after school getting dressed for a dance class and watching tv. They showed the first plant crash into the building i thought it was an accident then they showed the second crash and even though i was only 5 i still was able to understand that it wasn’t an accident. I had no idea what a terrorist attack was and i didn’t fully understand what had really happened until i was about 10 and my mom made us all watch a documentary about it. Its still hard to grasp that people could do something like that.

It was a cold, and misty night. I was up in my bed, staring out the window. Wondering what my life would be like tomorrow. The mist was almost mesmerizing. It gave me a bit of hope in an odd way. I couldn’t wait to see what tomorrow could bring. It was all to exciting.
