harm

self harm is so trite but the fact is, I had to let it out somehow. The way my pain bubbled up inside me it felt like it was going to burst. Cutting into my arm allowed me to channel some of it out and into the world. I enjoyed the release, almost orgasmic the way it happened.

I used a knife and cut into my skin and I felt in control again, letting the pain out of my body.

cities

Cities are big places I want to go to
They don’t have farms
Or cows
Or republicans
And despite the smog
They help me breathe a little easier

cave

The cave was dark. I could barely see anything. I knew I was in the right place. Something told me that this is where it was. I just needed to figure out exactly where it was. When the ground shook I knew I was in trouble. I need to find this tablet and I needed to find it now.

actual

Actually, I love you.

Actually I’d die for you.

Actually, you don’t know I exist.

thought

I thought about what it meant to think. What were my thoughts when i was younger? What will they be tomorrow and what were they yesterday. My thoughts built me into the person I am today, but it’s strange how I will never remember the vast majority of them.

somebody

Somebody had seen me. I hadn’t been as thorough as I should have been. The sweat had built up on the bridge of my nose as I paced back and forth across the well worn linoleum floor.

charge

Take charge of your life. Don’t let anyone else control what you are doing. Don’t let anyone hold control over you with material objects. Just take what you love to heart and live that way; love the way you live and live the way you love.

afraid

i was afraid. afraid of death. i didn’t mind the dark or the thought of monsters, in fact those sparked my imagination. i was only afraid of someone close to me dying. that’s why when my parents died i had a panic attack. I’ve been in this coma ever since.

protected. hidden. blankets covering a small child in bed on a chilly January night.

salvation

The saving grace. The smile at the end of a long day, the long embrace at the end of a cold night. Knowing that someone, anyone, can love you after all the things you have done in your life that you hate yourself for. Someone saying “You did good kid” even when they know you have so much more to do. The chance to change the story the second time around, regardless of whether you think you can or not. You only get one shot at salvation they say….but I guess it’s how you look at it. Because there are infinite chances, as long as you can see them clearly.

being saved. saved from the world, saved from yourself. being free. finally being happy

event

Events are meant to be fun things. You plan them. You invite people. Perhaps you expect presents. Why, then, are they hardly ever any fun? Expectations and absolutely no follow through. Sitting around, eating crummy food, talking to people you don’t know. Who needs events? Let’s just all stay home and get pissed by ourselves, much better idea.

saturday

I drift in and out of sleepytime, awakening for a snuggle with the little or a quick chat with the husband. And then I’m off again, dipping back into the dreamy lake of a lazy Saturday morning.

I used to do Club Lyon on Saturday nights. It was the best time I’d ever had online. Sometimes I miss it, but all good things must end someday. I have my memories.

stunt

a stunt is something stupid that you do just for the sake of proving that you can do it. It’s “Jackass the Movie” without the paycheck. It’s knowing that you can do the impossible, and survive to tell about it. Stunts should always be video taped, for evidence in 20 years when someone looks at you and says “I can’t believe you did that”

leading

what a manager is supposed to do for his employees, but can’t seem to understand that just because he has a business card, it doesn’t mean that he doesn’t have to lead. We aren’t sheep….we need someone to herd us in the right direction….just because he said he knows where we’re going, it doesn’t mean he doesn’t have to get us there.

shepherd

There is this book called The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho that ended up changing my life. My entire outlook on life, the path we choose and the path that is already predetermined for us was upended. I have a better respect for the direction my life could take just by listening to my heart.

setting

The setting of the story took place in a far off land of lush forests and happy squirrels. They roamed the forests hunting for nuts and other animals to play with. I shouldn’t end a sentence with a preposition, should I?

The average woman thinks about her life day by day. Everyone thinks we plan and speculate but we don?t were just trying to live like everyone else.

mist

The early morning mist was thick and clung to Andrea’s skin making it slick and damp. The early morning run was proving to be more laborious than she had anticipated as she climbed steadily up the hill.

level

level is a palindrome. it looks like an owl to me, with big eyes, flapping wings, and a small nose. I think it’s a beautiful word when you look at it big like this. I never noticed any of these things before. It’s a pretty word.
