I stood in the middle of the train central, unmoving. I was entranced by a red hat that seemed to glide across the crowd, beckoning me to follow. I obeyed, almost pushing a man over before I caught up with the crimson beacon.

Silver always wondered what was so intriguing about the other trainer. He was annoying, overly optimistic, extremely nosy, and exceedingly touchy-feely: the complete definition of what he hated. But whenever he gazed at him with those gold eyes of his, he couldn’t help but put aside those characteristics that irked him so.

The Prophet Moses stood, with his arms raised over the Red Sea, commanding the waves to do his bidding. As I watched my faith in God grew, this was a man who had devoted his very existence to serving the Lord. And look at what he had acomplished through his obedience. As the water continued to swell and rise, My heart sung with the hope of a new life, a new life in a land flowing with milk and honey. And as I daydreamed a small hand slipped into mine. The hand of my son, Moses after the great Prophet. He looked at me through wide innocent eyes and asked ” Mama when we walk across the sea will we be able to see the fish?” I laughed a great and full laugh that had not been mine since the Egyptians had stolen my joy. I smiled at his simple and childlike question and tousled his curls. “Yes my son we will see the fish.” A wide smile spread across his face as he ran to tell the other children what he had discovered. Tears filled my eyes as I realized that my son would never have to experience what I had, He could enjoy his childhood, loving every minute. And I thought for the first time, This it what it means to be free. I was free.

I used to love going to Costa…Living alone, no one really gets to make me a drink. It’s always just me. So watching someone lovingly prepare a caramel latte & hand it to me with a smile is a beautiful, simple joy.

They twist through my mind like a disease. Fertilising every nerve to the point of paranoia. Every so often they bloom; brought forth by some small, insignificant detail that sparks the yearly region in my mind. The vines then become a tropical jungle, darkening my horizons; warning of a storm localised within me. So encompassing are the sounds of my jungle I fall into my own trap. Lost in an illusion so vivid, so real, it haunts my every waking moment.

I didn’t want to do it. I refused. My signature was me, it was pretty much all I had left, my identity. Signing the petition was signing my life away. But everyone was forcing me. What was it called? Mob mentality.

“The world we see that seems so insane is the result of a belief system that is not working. To perceive the world differently, we must be willing to change our belief system, let the past slip away, expand our sense of now, and dissolve the fear in our minds.”

Princes, castles, families and lovers. People that have come and go, places that have been forgotten, written about and remembered. School desks scribbled on in pencil. Pencil shavings.

circles around her eyes from eyeliner. They were driving down a country road, fast. So many stars it was like the sky had acne. The cats eyes reflecting their headlights, bright white against the black road looking more like how we imagine stars than the infections on the sky. She looked at him driving and wondered if she should tell him. But then

ha. they don’t exist right? because surely if they did, you’d think that they’d have protected you. that they’d have saved you, made you pure, made you alright. but they didn’t. so they aren’t. because i refuse to believe that life could be so unfair.

See through, like silk. glass, plastic. Sometimes colourful, with a thousand colours streaming out when the light shines through. Can also be actions or motives, as when as a person is honest.
