amuse

Amuse me.
Dance clown dance.
make me laugh,
make me cry,
make me gasp in horror.
Amuse me.

Or else….

etiquette

Etiquette is the grease that oils the machinery of civility. Lose the etiquette and we’re all just a bunch of wolves snarling over a caribou carcass on the tundra.

straw

It’s time to burn the straw man. Too much stress and anxiety has passed through our hearts and it needs to be released. Burn the straw man and send our troubles up in smoke for the Gods to handle. Burn the straw man and scatter the ashes under the trees.

crush

I remember when I was in ninth grade, I had a crush on a different boy ever week. They were all different too…one blond, one brunette, heavy, thin, tall, short…it seemed that I didn’t know who or what I wanted….maybe that’s because I didn’t know who or what I was yet. Funny how time can clarify things. Who and what I want is sleeping right here next to me. Who and what I am is still sometimes a mystery.

lust

Lust….one of the seven deadlies. What makes it so deadly has nothing to do with sex. It has to do with wanting TOO much. If you want anything TOO much, it can make you do some really stupid things.

antlers

Antlers is a funny word. Oh yea, antlers themselves are beautiful and part of a very magnificent animal, but the word itself is silly. Aaaaantlers.

failed

Failed. Wow…such a defeatist word. “I failed.” To me this is synonymous with “I give up.”

history

HIstory…they say if you don’t learn it, it’s bound to be repeated. I’m not sure I agree with that. I look at all of the stupid mistakes humans have made in the past and see them making them again right now. War, violence, cruelty…we did it in the past and we’re still doing it…we’ll probably continue to do it. Maybe instead of learning about the past, we should learn about how we can improve the future.
