startled

the time i was scared was a very scary time it made me pee myself. It’s a funny thing really I didn’t know it was coming and then my pants were wet. I wanna punch him in the face for that.

casual

How you see me in a way where you touched my very soul and yet you’re standing so far away.
You leave without notice and yet I can still smell your lingering perfume around my room.

stability

Never in my life had I experienced such torment. With no semblance of balance, I felt myself free-fall, achingly, into the abyss of what had become my life. I knew I needed something, but I had no idea what.

equator

I don’t care. It’s like the middle of stuff. Earthwise, it’s mostly hot. Uganda has a line. Some other countries are in the middle too. Equality sounds similar. I like equality.

regrowth

Sometimes the seedling would recline in the afternoon sun and wonder why the weeds had come.

“They’re just trying to be friendly,” said the hibiscus.

The seedling shrugged. It was Christmas.

fiery

Sometimes when you stare at the wall, you burn holes into it that glare down into the streets below, and light enters it like a fiery solar flare. There you behold a glimpse of cold luminescence that blows up in flashes of thought, covering your inner mind.

fort

Battalion. Battle lines. Hidden in the manor, the enemy’s ghost trembles. In the sound of chaotic clatter, we find the flares of muzzles hardly enticing, and very dramatic.

maestro

I think the treble cleft had left
A tiny impression, a soundbite
On the corner of your lip as you spoke.
In the evening I will say goodbye
And hear what your floating voice has to say.

caramel

But it’s true. I have ants in my pants. If only I knew how to count numbers and stars like termites that eat insects on your face. Did you watch the television flicker? I think the commercials are rotting your brain and your face. Perhaps we should watch only in intervals.

glowing

glowing– will my students be able to submit these to me– that might be cool? Are their different words on here that they could do– one per week, perhaps. Just to get the creative juices flowing?? Tempting. My face will glow if all of them do the correct assignment, or if this is actually worth it. Let’s see. How neat!

stubborn

The truck was stuck. There’s no getting around that fact. James hadn’t expected this, never would have thought that the mud around here was so damn stubborn. He checked his phone – no bars. He flicked his worn zippo and sighed.

witnessed

As the smoke filtered lazily out of the gun barrel, the young lad cringed against the brick wall. He’d never witnessed a murder before – but he would again. Very soon. There came a steely click as the man worked the hammer of the revolver, reading another round.

unfaithful

I have made mistakes, quite a few of them, and one of which being the pursuit of my own happiness. I carry with me idea that I can be satisfied by my own self. The irony is this: I have been unfaithful to my own search for meaning. I am the most fickle settler and the most fearful adventurer.

baffled

Every time I maintain some sense of sanity, my days always leave me exhausted. I am torn between a life I have and a I life that I have always wanted. I am left feeling a deep sense of dissatisfaction. Baffled.

secluded

I feel so secluded. Life is full of people. Walking, talking. Singing, dancing. The world flows by, and here I sit, secluded. Some say that it’s not so bad to be lonely. I don’t think they understand what true loneliness feels like.

manhattan

I’ve never REALLY been to Manhattan. I have always wanted to, but a combination of the fact that it’s a pain in the ass to get to, and the fact that I really really love the city of Philadelphia, it’s something that has never been a priority. I DO love the Woody Allen movie of the same name, however, but that’s neither here nor there.

metro

I was walking down the street of the west metro in Minneapolis. All of a sudden, out of nowhere a little kid came up to me and asked if i wanted to play with them. I Smiled and decided to play. We played baseball in the streets for hours. It was like my inner child was finally put at ease for the time being.

beware

Beware the Lambs! We are in the age of fear where government and media teaches us to be wary in life. Where health and safety crushes creativity and freedom of expression, and where danger is advertised as always round the corner. Where insurance against liability and compensation results in meaningless weather warnings, pointless motorway signs and unnecessary health warnings. Wherever we look we are told to Beware! Where our willingness to explore, our zest for life and our passion to believe, and our aspiration to do the impossible is frozen out by fear. Beware! Beware the Lambs! They would have you believe they are dangerous too!

tales

There once was a man who was a wonderful weaver of tales. He liked to tell them to children all around the world. One day he was in a house in a village spinning a particularly interesting one. It was about a man and his sword. The man loved his sword very much and it was passed down from generation to generation through his fathers. He was walking on a forest path when a goblin appeared before him. He tried to talk to it but he couldn’t distinguish anything past the snarls and grunts that it was making in response to him. It was getting gradually angrier and eventually pulled out its own weapon, a cruel looking cutlass made of pig iron. It advanced towards the man and

startled

The great black bird hit the window and she nearly jumped out of her skin-suit, becoming a skeleton. In the calmed aftermath she stared at the dead bird on the windowsill and thought what it would be like to be a skeleton–she could walk around the world, would everyone stare at her? Would they ask her where her organs had gone and why she had taken off her skin? Could she give them a straight answer?

Everything he was going to say, everything he was ready to yell was stalled as he heard the news. Everything was changed by the one thing she just told him. Nothing would ever be the same again.

leathery

His skin was like his coat in more than one way. It had seen and weathered many hardships. Cold winters and harsh winds have broken themselves over both leathery shields. Both served as protection against the rough world he lived in.

weathered

As he stepped into the sun, light washed over his weathered face as it had every day for as long as he remembered. Hopefully he would have many more mornings, but the nature of the world makes these hopes uncertain.

As she grasped the neck of his shirt, she pulled him in close. She whispered softly into his ear. What she whispered wasn’t what he had expected, but as he thought more about these words he was able to console himself with their meaning.

“He willed me to do so.” Nobody really talks like that. It sounds very old fashioned. But there’s a certain beauty in that, like a long lost treasure being found.

speak

Words flow out of my mouth. I am rambling, but it just won’t stop. Lord help me! It’s like I have a disease where words come to my brain naturally, and fall out of my mouth like a waterfall.

size

Size, does it really matter? Most people who are on the larger size are quite content with their life. They have hearts, too. We are all people, no matter what our size.

amount

The total sum, it is the accumulation.

Will I amount to anything? From someone elses perspective I’m perfect
from mine I’m hardly at all.
Who has the most correct lense and who exists the most.
I believe in someone whose identity weighs the most.
