The sum of all parts. This makes me think of Excel worksheets, which makes me depressed. =SUM(sadness divided by stress).
But this makes sense, such a dull word for Monday back to school day. I wish I was at a tiki bar.

These are always at hotels. They had a weird one at Notre Dame. Why did it seem like the door to a refridgerator? Why is that word difficult to spell? Jacuzzi is a weird word. I’m not sure what else to write about. I NEED A TOPIC. Ahhhhhhhhh. I graduate soon. Owls. Do owls want jacuzzis?

The car came to a screeching halt in front of the embassy. “About time”, mumbled Duncan Portnoy.

I hear footsteps. In the darkness. They are coming for me. I am paralyzed with fear. I look towards the door. My heart thumps. Faster. Faster.

The fun thing about being a parent is that it is not scary when I hear footsteps running down the hall to my room in the middle of the night. Well a different kind of scary at least. Actually when I hear footsteps I usually just try to crawl under the covers and hope that the kids can’t fine me.

My little sister and I text each other church marquee quotes. One of my favorites is “If at first you fail, then try something harder.” I think they added a word . . . Although my favorite church marquee quote of all time is actually from the Simpsons: “Jesus knows what you did last summer.”

Not stewed. But stood. Stood up. I wonder where that term came from? Like if someone stands up and walks out? Although I thought it means that the person never shows up. When I was 23 a guy invited me to his house and when I showed up he wasn’t there. I just knocked on his door for a ridiculous amount of time. Funny.

I stood up and walked out the door. I did not look back. I walked down the street passing the houses that I know until I reached the back of the neighborhood and then into the part of the neighborhood that I did not know. Then the road ended, and I stepped off the pavement and into the grass and then into the wilderness. There I stood for years.

Never in my wildest dreams. Well maybe. I don’t know how to say never. I hedge everything I say. Well maybe. I will never do that. Maybe I will. I will never go there. Unless . . .

Never say never. Except for when I just did. I will never ever say never. Again. Maybe I will say maybe. Probably I will say probably. Sure I will say sure. Always I will say always.

My convictions are negotiable. But then maybe that means they are not convictions. The older I get the less I find that is absolute. I grow more unsure, less convicted each day.
» Posted By Hillary On 09.29.2014 @ 6:56 am
I guess that means having values. But the first thing I think of is being convicted. Like going to jail. That is my worst nightmare. I would like to never have a conviction. That is my life goal.

Turn back. Run away. That is something I used to do. It was my pastime. My favorite activity. I ran to Texas. I ran back. Retreated home. My second favorite activity. I also like to burn bridges. Block other people from retreating. Sometimes it is the best way. No the easiest. Circling back. Recursive.

I am ready to retreat. To run away from all of you who are not writing! Just keep going and don’t stop and see what happens. I should probably go on a couple’s retreat. Something. I have never done that it seems really nerdy. I don’t really like to sleep in bunk beds.

Ivy took the huddled passengers to the safe-point. After getting them to a safe location, she looked back to Daniel with a sigh of relief.

“One must be Quite selective in not only ‘the foodstuffs that they intake, but also the media that they consume. You are what you eat, on every possible level. In turn, this is the way that we judge our candidates, Mr. Blanke. Not only by the amount of discipline that we test through various physical trials and carefully planned tribulations, but also by testimonials of ones hobbies and pleasures during idle times.”
That was very oddly worded, thought George.

You have to demonstrate your best behavior, in society. But what happens when you have grown tired of doing this. What societal rules do you then abide by? Where do you begin to know what “guidebook” to refer to?
Ivy was deep in this philosophical train of thought, 2 a.m., on the dating sight “Alrighty Aphrodite” where insomnia had unfortunately taken ahold of her, for yet another night. She would have much preferred to have an excuse of some sort, and wished to be under the influence of another sort, but the state of her awaken-ness was painfully, tortuously lucid.
Ivy had partaken in behavior that seemed unthinkable to her just a month ago, the art of the booty call. She couldn’t believe her luck, even though she always deemed herself a very strong judge of character(the exception that seemed to make the rule, being her ex-husband) and she carefully sift through the sadly optimistic profiles, looking for the snarky guy who, as if by gunpoint, reluctantly agreed to write about themselves, not being able to take this seriously, and yet when it gets to their likes and going on in such a manner that one would think they applied to just be

My mom is progressive, for the Mid-west. I’ve often wondered what kind of life she Could be living if she didn’t end up in Tipton, Indiana-in the middle of the “Nothing-Belt”. I guess, true to form, that thought shifts over to me.

The trigger was not the problem, it was having the courage to pull it. The hand responsible for doing so, was unsure and unable to calculate why?

I think of bullet-like focus, of someone being able to see something not only through to completion, but to the outcome after. They see all the possibilities, the angles,

I think of the foo fighters song and that infectious beat-“Here comes my hero watch him as he goes” what does that even mean-are you watching him as he is leaving-or watching him as he/she is doing a heroic task-why is that guitar rift so infectious?

She looked at the presents under the tree; gold paper with red bows, just like always. Except this time, her mother wasn’t there to watch her open them. She was laying in a bed fighting for her life.

Eric suggested that I just write the word, “Bricks,” over and over again until the 60 seconds timed out. I don’t think that is the point of this, nor productive. Also, it is stupid. When I got the word, what it made me think of is turn of the century houses — sometimes they are painted white, sometimes red, sometimes in-between.

Every person has there own size whether it be big or small tall or short. Side does not matter because that doesn’t define us. It’s our personality that does. Size can mean many other things to, not just humans. Like the size of pizza or the soda you order with your pizza.

There are lots of shows on TV, but there never seem to be any good ones. The ones that are good are the ones that you’ve watched. But you wouldn’t have known they were good had you not watched them. So take the time and discover something new.

“That girl is on fire” they sang. But really she was on fire. They were too busy singing to notice. She burned to death. The wind swept away her ashes. She was never heard from again.
