The setting sun
It shone like an orange-red bulb
Just as the light passed away
I saw her smile at me with that smile
That could light the sky

I spent too much time in bars in my twenties. I’m glad that I have never spent time behind bars, though!

“This is a fine existence!” Darrell mused. He knew, though, that the last days of his vacation were ahead and that soon he would be back to the drudgery of his 9 to 5.

Henry was a sponge when it came to music. He could listen to, soak in, and then squeeze out more from a Coltrane solo than any of the cats. He was also a sponge in that he was a big ol’ softy with a heart that kept giving, even when he had no money.

I will succeed at writing a prompt on oneword.com. I can do this. it feels good to be successful at something! Now, to write that novel by tomorrow…

The storm outside was so violent that it tore down not only the sad, wimpy pine trees but the tall oak tree that was in the back yard. It must have been some wind to accomplish a feat such as that!

A perfect day:
I stand in the river to cast
to catch the fish and play
and know my worries won’t last.

The weight that is felt by all the stress put on us seems like it is enough to crush us sometimes.

morals. Morals? I didn’t think that there were people left that understood and applied this concept. There are a few, and hopefully they will be influential to the amoral multitude!

Those who fail to learn from History get a bad grade and their GPA goes down.

I held a high note out on the trumpet in a musical one time… I almost blacked out. It was freaky!

I would have to train to run a race. It would be neat if I actually took a train to the place where I’d train!

I sat at the train station wondering, hoping, praying that she would be on this next one. It hadn’t worked the previous four times, though. I wasn’t giving in until I knew for sure.

I told little James to go sit in the corner. It didn’t work, though. He sulked, sure, but my disciplinary action only made him brood and his anger festered until one night…

I’ll pass the torch to a person who can carry it further, faster, longer, and better than I can. I always think of generations doing this. Sometimes it doesn’t work out, though.

I love to go to the mall, or anywhere else that serves them, and get a hot pretzel. A regular pretzel is a good anytime snack, too. There’s just something special about that hot, doughy, salty treat. The way they melt in your mouth… yum!

How curious a name for a monkey.
Should have been a cat.
That curiosity killed.

The band director was always shouting, “Bones! You guys are way off! You wouldn’t know your elbow from an oboe. C’mon, let’s take that section again and get it right this time.”

I’m assuming, as a guy here, that it is something that goes- perhaps in a line?- around the eye. Or maybe not a line? Definitely the eye, though.

I’d like to get out and camp and hike more. It’s such a great thing to be out in the woods amongst creation. Refreshing, rewarding, and relaxing!

As he stripped the bandana from his head to stop the bleeding, his only thought was, “This could mean life or death for my friend. Gotta hurry!”

Sitting most of the day under fluorescent lights
makes me want to get out.
Just go and do and be
somewhere fun, somewhere sunny.
Or cloudy even.
Just to live and not live as if I were in a trance

This is the same word as yesterday! What a way for trailer to trail behind trailer!
» Posted By David Saleeba On 04.27.2011 @ 10:30 am
In any given 5K race, I will be a trailer. In the first one I ran, my friend and I decided that the little 10 year old girl and the 80 year old guy with the cane would not beat us. We smoked ’em!

Whiskey? What a terrible prompt for a Baptist to have to encounter! I’m trembling and palpitating just thinking about it. Oh goodness.

I thirst for many things: for coffee, for time with my family, for the ability to provide for them, for quiet time with the Lord.

I am determined. I will not spend time on oneword.com instead of doing work. I just won’t do it! So, I’ll start it tomorrow. Yeah…

It’s sad that most people have a tough time reading any clock that isn’t digital. For that matter try explaining records or 8 tracks to someone under the age of 20!
