It was the final game of the season and we were three down. ‘Okay, huddle in team,’ coach called us over to regroup and make our strategy for the last ten minutes of the game.

The mail man was walking up to the door, as he laced down the package at the according address. He knocks twice. “Delivery!”

As he walked along the street and turned along the corner, he decided to cross the street. Walking and seeing there would be no car at this hour, he had a slow tempo. Reaching the other side of the pavement he realized there was a newspaper laying on the ground. “Corridor” was the first word to strike his mind, knewing it was a sign, as he picked it up.

I don’t know what it was about him. The smirk on his face that made his eyes twinkle or the way he sounded when he told me I was beautiful. It was him. I knew it all along.

I knew it. The way he looked at me. The smirk on his face, the spark in his eyes. He made my world spin. Everything about him did. It was him.

The simplest things can make anyone “attractive” in today’s society, but what truly matters is an attractive personality. Don’t go for the looks. You don’t get what you see.

He never thought of himself as an underdog, people had ascribed the term to him over time and it gradually became more familiar, like an old friend. Underdogs are a force to be reckoned with his best friend used to say encouragingly, nobody ever sees you coming. However he was painfully aware that everyone always saw him coming, the awkward limp, the clothes that seemed to pull in all the wrong places and most importantly the look on his face which already shouted to the world : I don’t want you to see me.

I was putting it off. It was approaching fast, a giant steam engine with an ear-blasting whistle, a warning, and I was trying to set it off its rails. I could not put its breaks on. I could not stop the collision. I could only stand there and try to distract for a moment before the ultimate contact.

Cat-eyed, flitting to the corners of the room, to the knuckles of strangers, their own, which occasionally tug at their own sleeves, they are aware that someone else may be aware. Their thoughts are glaring. Neon-red. They hide their hands, eyes lowered.

I had to give it to him. I was really interested. I never would have thought that I would ever be interested in a guy like him but there I was… very interested. I was interested in the way his hair moved when he talked, the way his eyes lit up when he got excited about… well anything really. I was interested

Gold hung from his neck as he pointed his gun at the bank teller. After screaming and some shots fired, he ran out of the bank to his car. He went home to his daughter and told her she can finally take those ballet lessons she dreamed of.

I use as much leverage as i can, but it is still not enough. My fingers grasp the edge of the windowsill, but I fall back onto the harsh, cold ground, and pain echoes in my body. Desperation fills my head as the pain clears.

I am being punished for something i cannot explain. there is silence on the verge of being an answer, and i cannot help or do anything about it.the pain is too great. this is something i cannot endure alone. but i am alone. i am all alone, in an unwanted world, being punished for something i did not do and can not speak up against..

keep cool, arabelle reminded herself, even though she was in the midst of a drug bust. sure, she had done things in the past, but that was long behind her, mostly. she still used them every now and again, but the only reason for that was she needed them to think. a bit like sherlock holmes, she thought herself.

Avery looked to her left, silently judging her sister’s new girlfriend, who was obviously as gay as the Fourth of July. Well, at least she wasn’t saying it out loud; judging people is fun.

It was simple things like this, rose petals spread out on their bed, champagne with dinner, that made her love Penelope even more. She hoped that everything would go according to plan, and tonight they would be engaged. Who knows?

“You see, Inspector… What was it,” the short man asked, tipping his hat apolojeticly. “Barns. Thomas Barns,” the older man replied with slight annoyance. “Oh! Quite sorry about that. Anyway, the object at hand is very, very dangerous.”

“Soon, Marguerite. I promise, We just have to wait for Daddy to get home.” I remember that’s what my mother said, sixteen years ago, the day my father died. All I wanted was an ice cream cone. Now, all I want is him.

Silence. Dahlia hated silence. She looked to her right, towards the tall boy will striking green eyes, and the large pile of books he held in his hands. They had a lot of work to do. But, what did she expect?

The crystal, or, what Arabella assumed was a crystal, sat in the center off the table, glowing dark red and making a high pitched humming noise. Above the square was an unproportionally large hole in which she could only guess the mysterious object fell through, but since no one was around when the crystal fell into the the library, she couldn’t be sure.

is thinking about you right now in another country, you just don’t know about it yet. They’re looking at an imperfect silhouette and imagining it becoming photo-shopped or just a little more perfect, they’re envisioning you. Then again, maybe not.
