the box of lucky charms cereal was unopened. when i saw it i opened it to taste it when suddenly the marshmallows were dancing and singing to me. I was amazed that they were only marshmallows and that they could do such a wonderful performance.

my brother has a very special flannel shirt. He doesn’t let anyone touch it except for himself. It has special powers that lets him fly.

My TV was freaking out again. The static shouted at me with “AUXILIARY” written across the screen in big green letters. It always did this when the weather was stormy.

I couldn’t think. Couldn’t speak. Couldn’t move my limbs to cry out for help or run. I was being ripped apart, but feeling nothing. My body was shifting and changing, transforming into something I wasn’t quite sure of.

reminds me of domestic abuse, and cookie cutter homes. the “typical american lifestyle” that doesn’t really exist. reminds me of dogs who sit when you tell them to, and cats that roam your house. domesticated animals. humans really are a little too big for their britches, aren’t they?

She desperately tried to console herself, alone in her room. What else was she supposed to do? Her best friend had just died. The best friend she’d been in love with. Now he was gone. Now what?

The way boys refer to their group of friends. The type of hair cut my father’s had since the military. Nothing about this word is feminine in the least… Even crew t-shirts are for men. Interesting.

what a word for mothers day. I guess you can’t help but love whatever you push through the agonizing pain for, going through all of that I would guess a mother would want it all to be worth it. that, I would think, would be where a mother’s love truly begins.

I wear mine in a cateye. Thick toward the outside, then thinning out. It makes my eyes look less round and juvenile. Everyone notices. And I wonder if they like it. Then I wonder why I care.

Pale and fake, the lights that shine on you while you look at yourself in some store mirror. They accentuate every flaw, blemish, scar on your skin. Giving you a weak pallor. Not something to admire. Making you wonder, “Do I always look like this?”

the way the lights in schools, and store bathrooms make your skin appear disgusting and aged. always accentuating your flaws. as if getting better grades or buying their product will make you look better. i hate those lights. so fake. like the materialism that surrounds us.

would it be easier to be one. stupid question. no. and yes. and no. and yes. if I were a robot i wouldn’t have a problem deciding, would I. there you go. maybe it is a “yes.” I wouldn’t have to deal with a lot of things if I were one.
