He never knew how much his side could hurt, but he had to keep running. His escape would be discovered soon and the entire guard patrol would be on him. He had no choice but to take the leap when the cliff came; he could hear the dogs quickly gaining.

She pulled on the filaments of web spun around her, a tight cocoon that would soon be her coffin. In less serious moments, she always said she wanted to go back to nature, and not be buried in a sterile coffin; but suddenly these thoughts didn’t sound so noble.

They stood in line, regimented, at right angles, waiting to hear the final declaration that their graduation had been completed. Months of doing what they were told and never deviating had culminated in this day, when half of them expected to graduate, and half of them expected no never leave the field alive.

He really needed to broaden his horizons. As he stared down at the excel sheet, the cursor blinking at him with either mocking or fake enthusiasm, (he couldn’t decide which), he typed the first number of the payroll form in the cell.

The train pulled up to the station, and had hardly come to a stop when Eileen bounded off into the station. She was finally home. She hadn’t called this city home in decades, but in her heart, she had never left. Or had she????

If it wasn’t glowing a bright purple, he really wouldn’t even have guessed that it was from an alien planet. Otherwise, it looked just like any other tetradedral-shaped piece of metal that was stronger than steel yet weighed less than aluminum.

After all this time, all he could see in front of him was a turtle. A single, solitary shell-backed beastie, all his own now. She bought him the turtle, thinking it would assuage his guilt over losing — over losing what he lost. It would never replace it, but it was so surreal that it made a kind of nonsensical sense.

She woke up in the middle of the night, evrything in her life felt like it was bearing down on her. She never knew what could be lurking in the dark, and that frightened her. The shadows crept up, taking everything over in her mind. She’s finally broke and lost control.

Determination is an essential characteristic for any human being to have! If your not determined to achieve something in life, you will soon find yourself in a disappointing situation regardless of what you have previously achieved.

“I dare you to run across that old bridge” said Julie to Adam. He plucked up his courage and ran. The bridge fell apart with each step. He fell through the old wooden planks and was never to be seen again.

Keen is an adjective that describes something in a positive manner. Such as saying “things are peachy keen to me.” It is also a descriptor of your outlook on something, if you are “keen” on it.

Necessity isn’t as important as people seem to think. It is a mere bonus to life. Who needs a big tv? Or a smoothie maker? There is no need for these things but we, as a human race have come to depend on them.

He lifted his eyes to look at her, fearing and hoping that she was still there. All he saw was a hand dangling from the edge. He reached out way too slowly and touched the hand. Inside, he was screaming at himself to grab, to pull, to bring her to safety.

glimmer of hope appeared in the darkness. I continued to push, to try and escape from this hellhole. With each push, the pain in my arms grew worse but I couldn’t give in. So many people had given their lives so I could share my story with the world and expose the truth

The setting of my dream. The place I always go. I’ve never been here before. Never seen here before. And yet it’s so beautiful. So serene. So quiet. I don’t know how I missed this before. Maybe I had my eyes closed. Maybe I wasn’t looking. Or maybe, just maybe, I wasn’t sleeping.

Fall comes to me like the poison from a blow fish swimming through open salt water and flying into landlocked fresh water lakes. I want the poison of fall more than the recluse summer.

A wall of bricks, solid and whole, but what’s this? One brick lies separate, alone.
Where does it go?
How can it fit in to what is already complete?
Perhaps it longs to be free. I shall chuck it in the sea.

I wasn’t prepared for his challenge. Old man Branigen turned to reveal a small wooden box. “Open it in under 2 minutes,” he said. Shocked, my eyes quickly scanned the box. My focus fell upon the peculiarly shaped lock, shaped like a flower with no apparent openings for a key.

Amuse me. Amuse me to death. Amuse me until I wish to think again, but can no longer strain a thought. Broken, beaten, disenchanted, with what you offer as entertainment and with what is truly good. Amuse me for that is all that their is left of me; that which the clown can control.
