mirage

He stopped the long, arduous crawl through the desert and lifted his head to see what appeared to be a shallow pond with trees surrounding it. “This must be a mirage,” he thought. But as he crawled, closer he realized it was much more than that.

flee

We ran. So far did we run. Two thousand plus miles to the western coast. Freedom. Cold freedom that November. That was the water. Or just cold.

season

The season is unseasonal. The winters aren’t winter. The rain should be snow. I don’t understand why the season is unseasonal. The roads are wet when they should be slick. The air is heavy when it should be sharp. I don’t understand why the season is unseasonal. The leaves however, have turned as they should.

satisfy

Satisfaction is a delicate place. The moment you get there, you start looking away and you are gone.

charge

Today I went to the Texas State Fair and when I say I’ve never charged my card so many times. The funnel cake was superb but getting to spend time with my little sister, priceless.

shown

Today I was asked to show compassion and forgiveness…it’s not that I haven’t shown it before or anything it’s just that as believers I have to get better at loving ppl the way Jesus would.

nest

an empty nest is a sad and lonely place. some say. i think that my mother would be happier if her nest were empty. then she could pick up and move her nest to a new place and she could fly wherever she wanted to and have some fun once in a while instead of having to take care of everyone all the time.

Work, work is dull. So is asparagus. Celery. Beans. Romantic Comedies. Religion. People with learning disorders. Complainers. Budweiser.

braid

Braid are somwething to do with hair. Braids are mainly for girls but also can fit some guys. i wouldn’t reccomend them…but hey, thats your choice not mine. and braids can also be quite stylish.

» Posted By Corey On 07.01.2011 @ 3:45 pm

I braided my hair once. That’s when I had hair on my head, that is. I fell from a treetop and a branch cut off all my hair. A living branch of the dead. A dead branch. How could a dead branch move you say? I have no idea this is just a writing exercise.

wade

I waded in the open wanter for about thirty seconds before I heard a loud wind sounding like a rushing water. I fell into the open waves like a friend lost in a sea of forgetfulness. I hope one day I can fly into the clouds without any hint of gravity.

station

When I stood in the stop at the station, I remember my stomach exploding with butterflies too amped up to settle because she was coming home after several years. Several years equaled a century of longing in boxer shorts

domestic

Dogs have become very domesticated. They stay with you and keep you company, keep you safe. They are perfect fur therapy for when you feel bad and need someone to cheer you up. They are the best companion, you could ever ask for.

wasteland

The area near my house is a wasteland. It is all wet and mucky. No one is ever back there as it is almost impossible to cross without getting your shoes and lower legs wet and dirty. it is covered with grass with deep pools of dirt, mud and water.

bones

Bones, like a skeleton, a beautiful structure that unites everyone in the animal kingdom, even though they are all different and vary from creature to creature, it just makes us all something special. dont take them for granted, one day they might waste away!

crew

My family and I are often the cre on my dad’s sailboats. My sister, Erin, is the best crew member out of all of us, but the rest of us manage all the same.
It is fun though to a take a turn at the wheel.

eyeliner

My sister is a dancer, but she is also a teenager. She uses eyeliner to outline her eyes. When she does this, her beautiful blue eyes stand out and she looks really pretty.

camp

I like to go to camp. It is so much fun. There is a lot to do, like swim, roast smores and sing songs by the campfire. One of my favorite parts about camp is doing all the cool crafts in the craft house.

acoustic

I love playing the acoustic guitar. Nothing makes me more happy than to express my thoughts and ideas via the form of music…and what better way to do it than with my acoustic. If it were the only thing I had left in this world….I’d be okay with that :)

bookshelf

i’m completely unable to live anywhere without my books. I do not have any comfort level without books. bookshelves are the cornerstone of every home. I moved into an apartment once, without bookshelves. I left that city three months later after total abandonment. It was because I didn’t give my books a home, so they cursed me until once again i found them shelves.

» Posted By corey On 04.12.2011 @ 7:08 am

I love my bookshelf. It collects things that are important to me. My plays, my music, my collectibles. I love my bookshelf. It came from the Container Store during the last Elfa sale. It looks so good, I went and bought another matching one. I love my bookshelf.

Connect is what we need to do. Use mobile phones and electronics. Plain and simple. People that use classic stuff like hand rewritten letters will get nowhere in the future. They will fall behind and not know what’s happening.
