The sound of a cello is like a fresh wave over me. It soothens my senses. It warms my insides and feels like rich, oozing honey.

Nothing beats a trusty book on your bedside, always at your beck and call. That book on your bedside is your companion, keeping you busy on sleepless nights. It is your dream conjurer. Why the need for a dream catcher when you have a good book on your bedside?

It’s the most wonderful sight in the world. When the sun goes to sleep, the sky becomes ablaze with nightlights. Not even the NYE fireworks can outdo these natural beauties. Goes to show that nothing is more awe-inspiring than mother nature.

I wish there were motels in life. Sometimes you’re so engrossed in what you’re doing everyday that you can’t take a moment to smell the roses. If I stumbled across a motel once in a while on my life journey, I would definitely stop by.
Maybe there are plenty of motels out there. We’re just not booking in early enough.

To some people cappuccino is an art. To others it’s a mega industry. To many it’s fuel that keeps us going throughout the day. And it all started with coffee beans and a little milk.

Sometimes we wish our life had a more direct path without all its twists and turns. But where’s the fun in that? You would no longer have to wait for something ‘just around the corner’. In fact, there would be no corners, just a straight, direct route to the horizon and end of time.

Everything comes with a cost. Because the reality is that we live in a world with scarce resources. We don’t know it, but each and one of us subconsciously makes choices by comparing the benefits provided by the options available to us. We always want to go with the better option, surely. And when we make a choice, we think that that choice is the best one at that particular time. As time passes, though, it may very well turn out that that choice wasn’t actually a very good one in hindsight.
So I don’t believe many of us make ‘poor’ decisions. We’re just too misinformed.

The commoners had come to their decision. A sacrifice would be made. This was the system of policy-making that had evolved over time in the country, from a system that was characteristic of monarchical sovereignty to a system that engaged all citizens, or so they said. They called it the pure majority system – a paradigm of democracy. It would come at the expense of thousands of lives.

I hear a bell ring in my head. I think it’s coming from outside… or is it? What if it’s coming from the inside of my head, a figment of my own imagination. It sounds like a wake-up call, but from what? Am I in a dream? I am sure I am wide awake. But no matter how many times I stretch my eyes open with my hands, the ringing sound of the bell just won’t go away.
