This reminds of women, more importantly, and specifically, my roommates! they’re horrible. They’ve treated me horribly and without them I wouldnt be who i am now, so is being mean really a terrible thing or a necesary one?

How quickly things became obsolete. He put the books into the cardboard box and brought them to the curb. He attached a small sign: Vintage Kindle.

The bookshelf was full. And while it looked lovely, she knew she was lying to herself. How many of those books had she actually read? Very few. Her intentions were good. They were always good. But the books had piled up on the floor for so long that she thought putting them “away” on the bookshelf was the answer.
Instead, they just seemed to mock her even more.
Oh, why didn’t I just get a Kindle…

In the begining of the year I made a decision that this year was going to be my year. I have made many changes in my life in the recent past…losing weight, taking dance lessons, learning a new language. I’ve kept the weight off for four years. But now the results have slowed and I need to take another step in the right direction.
I’ve joined a gym. I now do kickboxing as well. The workouts are intense and I hurt afterwards. I’m not trying to get better in one day. But I am determined to get better and stay better by the end of 2011.
I AM DETERMINED!

I met a youngster over the weekend who didn’t know how to tell time from a clock. All they could do was read a digital clock. Is that what the world is coming to? I know regular clocks are becoming a rarity, but they do still exist. I can’t imagine not knowing how to “read” a clock…it would be like not being able to make change for a dollar.

She hated anything structured when she was on vacation. No tours, no early morning buses or train trips to nearby towns. No. Her favorite thing to do was to go out and become a part of the place she was visiting. On her first day she would find a neighborhood store where she would have breakfast everyday. She liked knowing that by the third day of her trip, the young girl behind the counter would know how she liked her coffee, or that she liked her eggs over easy. She didn’t want to stand out like the others. She wanted to blend in and become a part of the place she was visiting.

She told such vivid stories, that it wasn’t until she was finished that the children realized she had woven a moral lesson into her words.

The dreaded word…
I think you are wonderful, however…
Your resume is terrific, however,
I meant to stop at the grocery store, however…
It’s very rare that the word is followed by something you want to hear.

It’s hard for me to approach new people. Sometimes I force myself. And more often then not I’m surprised to see that they are open and receptive. I learned as a child that strangers are scary…even when I was beyond the age when that was appropriate to learn. So “unlearning” at a much older age is difficult.
Some days I’m more confident and I can easily approach someone and ask a question. Other days, it terrifies me to the point of paralysis. I need to approach my fear with less trepidation and more confidence and acceptance.

I hate the word policy. It means rules, laws, regulations. It reminds me of places I’d rather not be (work for example). I’d rather be out in the world, having fun, enjoying myself. Anything is better than living up to a policy…

Don’t think the crumbs you are offered are a meal; wait for the whole loaf.

I had to bite the bullet and join the gym. I was getting nowhere on my own. I f***** hate going to the gym. They have Zumba and kickboxing classes which should ease the boredom of working out on a machine. But still…I hate the gym.

She looked at her figure in the mirror. Her waistline was more pronounced. Hell, she actually HAD a waistline after all these years. The diet and exercise were paying off. She stared at the black fringed dress hanging against the white door. She closed her eyes and imagined walking into the dance studio and all eyes turning to her as she and her partner began to salsa.
Yes, it was doable. Yes, it was going to happen. She grabbed her keys and phone and left the house. She didn’t want to be late for kickboxing class.

His eyes went immediately to her leather-clad feet. The heels were four inches high, but she walked as though she were floating. The red satin enhanced the golden tan from their vacation in Argentina. He patted his hand on the couch next to him. Immediately she placed her foot where his hand had been. He caressed her leg, slowly making his way down her silky leg to the shoes. Let the games begin.

Most days I feel as though I am wandering through my life with no goals or purpose. I feel anxious when I think about that so I try to keep busy when what I need to do is focus on those feelings and decide to make a change.
Funny, when I’m not at work those feelings of wandering are less pronounced. I suppose it’s because I do things I want to do in my time off. For example, this Friday, I’m taking the day off and will go into New York City and wander around one of my favorite museums – taking a tour and checking out the special exhibits. Now that’s some wandering that I can really enjoy. :-)

Sometimes I found myself wishing that there really were such things as Fairy Godmothers. I would watch her wave her magic wand over my head, hear the strum of harp strings as a trail of stars follows it’s path over my head. Just like in a fairy tale. But then my heart would ache again and I’d be reminded that life isn’t a fairy tale and no one is coming to save me.

Tumbling in the breeze, her scarf flew down Fifth Avenue further away from her. It finally came to a stop at the foot of a lamp post. She grabbed it before it could fly away, wrapped it around her neck tightly & hurried into Central Park.

She needed to make a statement. She had been kind, bordering on soft, many times with him. She had already said goodbye, but here he was reaching out…again. He knew her weak spot. What would she write?
I’ve said all I needed to say to you. Please don’t contact me again. I’m moving on.
There…now that’s a statement.

He wondered if she thought of him. And if she did, were her thoughts kind or angry? He still had the note she had written him tucked away, under his workout clothes. He read it from time to time. Her words were kind, but she was firm: it was over between them.
In the past she had ended it with him and came back. But this time he wasn’t so sure if that would happen. Still, he wondered what she was thinking and feeling and if she had, as her note said, moved on.

The bee floated lazily through the thick air. Tiny legs laden with pollen, I watched it head for a notch in the old pear tree. Flying past the drones guarding the hive, he slipped inside to remove the pollen, only to turn around immediately to fly back to the fields for more.

Width is a measure of how wide something is. It often is used as a weight measurement and used to measure many structures
