Would she ever succeed, or always be in trying mode? What would success look like to me? How would it feel? She realized she needed to be clear about her destination, or how would she know she had arrived?

There’s a songbird in our neighborhood. Sweetly singing every day, bringing a joy to my heart through the beauty of her song. Thank you little bird for sharing the joy of your being.

She was a dead ringer for my best friend. But she was gone from this world. My jaw almost hit the floor. It was all I could do to look remotely normal.

Laughter exploded in the room as they pounded the bread dough! A cloud of flour hung in the air making them all look giggling ghosts.

The intern was so inept that I felt that he should be paying me to be here! It’s so frustrating to have someone make my day harder than it already is. Oh well, I really do want to be kind. Everyone has to start somewhere. And too, you never know, he could end up being a real star someday.

He tried to pass it off as a joke. She knew it was deliberate. She felt his words go through her body. Riding a wave of fear, the essence of each word found its mark and lodged in her heart.

Ah! Science! Is it a verb, or a noun? Scientists are creatives whose minds blaze trails that not everyone can follow. Theirs seems to be a unique way to to work with the world. Because of what I believe is limited understanding, people often try to separate the spiritual and scientific worlds, but they really can’t be separated at all.

Don’t worry! I’d love to throw her a birthday party, and six kids will be no problem. This will be fun! You’ll see. We’ll play games. I’ll even make a cake. I want her to have a fun day.

She gave him a sly look. He didn’t know what she could possibly be trying to tell him. He’d never been able to read people’s faces. He wanted to help, but what on earth did that look mean?

Loneliness is the space between. It’s a nowhere feeling, where time stands still. It’s a lie. We’re never alone.

Out of commission again! What’s wrong with me that I still think everything will work out, when over and over again they don’t? Oh well, I guess I’d rather be this way than lose hope.

The roses lay in the dust, withered, a shadow of their former beauty. I felt the same as those roses looked.

Her tousled hair reflected her scattered mind. She raised her head from the pillow trying to make sense of the sound. Was it a dream, or did something need her attention?

Softly. sweetly, he said goodnight, or was it goodbye. The sound of his words was like a lullaby I’d heard in some distant dream.

Enemies are your greatest teachers. They show you where you react. They show you where you’re uncomfortable, They show you what you truly want. There’s great clarity to be found in interactions with your enemies.

They met at the corner cafe, just the way they did every morning. Today was different though. Today would be the last time they would meet.

Magenta was the name she called herself. Her hair blazed her name like a neon sign in the dead of night. She’d dyed it herself. It was just part of her manifesto.

She burrowed under the covers trying to hide from the world, though she knew it really wouldn’t work. She peeked over the edge of the quilt, and decided to face them. She could do this.

Ooh, Creature from the Black Lagoon! I love B movies, and I don’t know why. They’re not really good exactly, but so much fun! They make me laugh. I guess that’s why I like them.

Are we destined for anything in particular? Yes, and no. We decide our destiny, no one else. You let others influence you, or not. It’s your call. Your path is up to you.

Soft, worn, fit like gloves, warm, earthy, tough, those are my boots.

The truth seems to move about a bit, but that’s not what’s really happening. It prefers to be subtle and hides in the most amazing and ordinary places.

Iron just makes me think or irony, and a scifi short short I once read, that said something like, God is an iron. I wish I could remember why.

it was a setting like I could only have dreamed about. No, actually, I’d never imaged anyplace more perfect. I couldn’t wait tor everyone to arrive.

Morality is just a fashion. It changes with the whims of the masses, or whoever is most persuasive in influencing mass consciousness. They think it’s the truth, but truth doesn’t change, does it?

She walked to the edge and peered over it to the river below. Normally she was afraid of heights, but not tonight. Tonight she was fearless, completely confident. No thoughts of losing balance, just a detached interest filled her.
