Singing God’s praises. Worship and praise.

We like to gather around the table. We gather to eat. We gather to talk and chatter about everything we have done over the week and over the past year. We reconnect. We go deep. We stay shallow. We are gathering together to reconnect our hearts after being apart.

She waited for the whir of the tracks to fade. It was time. She darted across and grabbed the freshly crushed penny. It was still hot. She grinned, bringing it back to her friends, victorious.

Her knees were shaking. There was laughter coming from behind the curtain. It wasn’t going to be that hard. She’d been waiting for so long to show what she could be. But it didn’t stop hurting. There was a swell of laughter and then silence. The organizer motioned to her.

Freedom from thought and worry, a plate of biscuits made by my mother long ago, the leaves of a red maple, the sound of my dog dreaming, clean sheets.

Her aura was a shining purple vacuum that sucked me towards her innocent soul. It was such a shame that I had to kill her but this was my job, her fate; slowly I let go of the steering wheel in my car and closed my eyes to prepare for the pain I was about to feel. It was however, not my pain that I was about to feel. The car wrapped it’s crunching metal around her delicate and frail body as she was flattened under the weight, a crippling agony from her broken spine, severed arteries and crushed organs swept through me and tightened my throat as I tried to scream out for help, despite my body being fine.

So for my first “one word,” I get earbuds. Interesting. First of all, earbuds hurt my ears. I have yet to find a set that are comfortable for me. However, I am glad that most of my students can use them comfortably because they come in very handy when they are using their devices with apps that require sound.

When you spiral out of control, you lose yourself. You lose your morals. The ground underneath you gives way and you fall. It feels like freedom but it tastes like loneliness and hopelessness.

My greatest competition. You push me to my limits and make me better. I want to beat you so bad and the only way to do it is to conquer myself. Thank you my Rival for making me better.

The poster hung crookedly, no doubt ripped from it’s axis by a rowdy teenager. The bright yellow lettering across the top of the design screamed the name of a band that had long been forgotten. She tore her eyes away from the paper and scanned the rest of the room, taking in the carpet of broken bottles, gum and grime, all coated in a thick layer of dust.

A voyage is a trip that you can take to set out to discover new things. It is a journey to live and to learn. It can take to to places far or near but where you can discover yourself. A voyage is an exciting journey of discovery!

I haven’t camped in a long time. Last time it rained and the clothes went mouldy so we didn’t go again. Mum doesn’t like camping. As we were putting down the tent we missed my favourite band play. I’d like to go again some time.

Vision. The way you see things, all around you, 360 – the ultimate way of viewing all things there are to see. The ultimate way of viewing life. Bliss. Like God – only better. See people, OPEN YOUR EYES and see.

Received? Makes me think of gifts really, doesn’t it? Giving and receiving of presents, maybe Christmas specifically and now I’ve just remembered it’s mothers day tomorrow and i haven’t got mum anything. My plan is to buy her something after or before work tomorrow in the outlet, maybe a candle. I don’t really know what else she would like. She’s so hard to buy for.

I just saw a picture on Facebook today. It’s about a roller coaster designed years ago to be deadly; one high plunge and then several loops designed to kill anybody since the heart will be unable to pump blood enough to support the g-forces, or so the article says. Scary.

I wish my ideas could fall as simple as the rain. One drop follows one drop and each one knows its place in the sky before it plashes to the ground. And all the drops together make a satisfying sheet of silver and a harmonious sound. Not like my ideas, that tangle and snarl and persist in being blown off course.

The stem of the world tree broke through the earth at 6 am on an otherwise typical Sunday morning. Later, some would see some Christian symbology here, clinging to their established beliefs in spite of this new evidence. Clara, however, knew better. She knew that these days were named after those who sat at the foot of the tree, even though the rest of the world had forgotten.

Farther away. That was the door she was looking for. She’d seen it once, years ago, in the mist, but every time she’d advanced on it it had moved farther away. It seemed to easy, back then. Step through the door and find another world, return through the same door and find your way home. Except, as it turned out, it wasn’t easy at all. Nobody had told her the door would keep moving farther.

She thought she’d gotten over it. It had been 10 years since the last time, and she’d been through countless sessions of therapy, countless medications and acupuncture appointments and well-meaning friends telling her about vitamins and herbal teas. But now, here she was, and there was a ghost staring at her from halfway inside her walls, and she was relapsing. 10 years.

Stay. Please stay. Don’t leave. Don’t abandon me. I need you close, not smothering close. But just close enough to feel your presence. Feel your safety. Feel your spirit. Please, stay.

I don’t have a lot of national pride. In November following the shooting in Ferguson, I wrote in my journal “this is not my country”. Having homeland is important, Having respect for elders and ancestors is vital. However, I don’t hold up a lie. I don’t hold up glory to hide chronic, ingrained violence.

And who owns you? I have no owner and honestly own no one. I have to own my personal accountability; my own body, spirit, mind. Ownership is powerful; dangerous.

A sharp-feathered glider.
A graceful falcon.
Atop a wave of warming prairie air,
Surveys the treasures that grass may reveal.

Hidden under canopy of sheltered leaves
Smokey musk of camp fire dwindling
Silence echoed from chirps and breeze
Nestled in a haven where comfort is found in its absence

When I was little I took piano lessons from our next door neighbor, Holly. Although I learned quickly and had great hands, ridiculously long fingers, I was far from her most dedicated student. As with many things, once I reached a certain level of proficiency my interest began to dwindle.

although the hiding and sly words of this determined speaker were clear still there was an air of a different agenda

» Posted By beth On 01.30.2015 @ 6:54 pm

So what is your real agenda here? Who are you really serving while you take up my time? Do you even know? Are you so lost in a cloud of ego mixed with unrelenting self pity and hate that you have lost any understanding of what are you doing?

Originally, integrated was read as interrogated. there had indeed been a lot of interrogation that day. that was a bad day with the unicorns

I am eligible for a life of love, joy, peace, and passion…a life with one warm, soft blanket, a few old and weathered friends, a well worn book (or 100)

a clean slate. i finally had one. i was free from everything that had held me back in the past. my enemies memories wiped along with everyone who has ever even glimpsed at my face. noone would recpgnise me, noone would even know my name. i was free.
